I moved over to BT anytime call and the 10GB/month broadband a month ago.[I have been with Pipex for the last 4 years without any trouble but succumbed to BT's cold calling:mad:]
Already I find that BT broadband use meter indicates I am over the monthly limit. [I have my doubts-& that is another issue]:(
I wish to know if my practice of turning off my WiFi router at night [BT HUB 3] around 9 p.m and turning it on around 7 a.m would have anything to do with my daily broaband useage? Or it does not have any bearing on it.?
Regards

Have you got any P2P software on any PCs in your house? (Even if you think it is not running, you could be seeding without knowing it).

Hi, not exactly an answer to your initial question, but I have read several comments which suggest that BT's usage monitoring is wildly inaccurate (having just moved to BT last month I have noticed this myself).
You could try using a program to monitor traffic so that you get a better idea of how much you actually use, in case you need to dispute it with BT - I've started using one called 'Networx' and the figures it gives are more inline with the usage figures given by my homehub - both very different from the BT online monitoring system (I assume that is the one you are referring to).
Hope this is of some use to you!0 -

I have noticed the difference between the BT Home Hub reading and the BT online reading.
I have already been to BT about it but got no-where.
