iPhone Upgrade on o2 via Quidco

There's an offer via quidco that has motivated me to get an iPhone. £160 cashback for an o2 upgrade. I've not had a new o2 phone for several years.

However, although you can get a 24m contract for £32 a month with 300m and unlimited texts, if I select upgrade, it comes out at £47 a month. I appreciate I can only have it in black.

It seems to me that it would be cheaper to take out a completely new contract at £32!

Am I missing something? I wouldn't pay more than £32 a month for an iPhone.
Do not allow the risk of failure to stop you trying!

Are both the new contracts and the upgrades on the same length of contracts, you should always get at very least the same deal as new customers while upgrading (providing you're dealing direct with O2) so something doesn't round right, unless of course you're taking cashback into account?

You could always call customer services, but of course then you wont be able to get cashback which isn't guaranteed anyway.
