Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 1st May. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Pinch, punch and all that. Can't believe it's 1st May. Not sure where the last month has gone  Be Christmas again before I know it at this rate

Restless night with DD who I think has mild croup :( So feeling extremely tired. House is a tip. Kitchen floor tiles have yet another stain on them so I could scream  Wish H had never wanted to put them down.
Need to vac, tidy round and generally keep on top of the mess that seems to multiply when H and the kids are at home.
Think I will do my weekly shop today (would normally do it Monday) so that leaves us Monday to go out somewhere if DD is feeling up to it.

Tea will be chicken and veg, not terribly exciting.

Hugs and spoons all round. Have a lovely sunny Sunday OS or not.

    Don't even joke about it.

Sorry you've been up overnight. So have I. Was waiting for the thread to start. Been about for a couple of hours. Grrrr.

Packing up today. Need to strip all the beds and clear the kitchen. Then find the dog - he's not stupid. He's seen the cars being packed. :D

    Morning all

Hope everyone is enjoying this long weekend. Sunny here again today, though to be honest the garden could use some OVERNIGHT rain:) Has been a busy weekend so far, had BBQ for the Royal wedding and seemed to take me most of yesterday to get sorted out. Now have loads of beer and wine and food in freezer left over, so may have to have to have another in the near future!

One load of washing done overnight out on the line, blowing nicely and second lot in wm now. Steak (left from BBQ) for dinner, might nip to Morrisons and get some jersey royals to go with it as I saw them being advertised last night at half price, and tbh am getting fed up of eating the left over salad! :)

Hope everyone has a good and sunny sunday.

    x

BB, hope DD's croup gets better.
Bright & sunny here today, we are going to see BIL today, some more snippets of information keep slipping out, no doubt everything will gradually become clearer.
WM & DW are both on, fish fed & I'm about to cook breakfast for hubby, need to water the garden, but not much else needs doing as we cleared up after our 9 visitors left yesterday & the house is still tidy.
MIL & FIL want to come to the registry office for our wedding and not just the Handfasting. We have to be there at 9:15 & I can't cope with the stress of wondering if MIL will find the place in time on the day, so I've suggested they stay with us the night before & we can all go in one car.
Yesterday went well as half the family I had cooked for did manage to make it & the ones that don't like HM food were very happy with the huge bowls of grapes, cherry toms & olives I'd set out, phew. The youngest children were also impressed to find out I had a toy box in my cupboard.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning All ,

Woken by some !!!!!! exhorting each other to F off at 5:30 this morning... Not impressed - why can I hear them when I'm in a back bedroom but my parents whose window they were standing outside of, seemingly slept through the whole thing?!?!?

First of the month, punch and a kick Bitsy and all that :D I can actually say my baby is due this month :j Sooooooooooo exciting!

Not a great deal on the agenda today. Think we're going to have roast beef for dinner but will most likely spend the rest of the day in front of the Moto GP, which is OS in itself because if we paid to actually go it'd cost loads...... Mmm twisted logic anyone? :rotfl:

Hope everyone is well, hugs to all xx

Totally agree and the comment about Christmas:eek:

    Good morning all.
Will be getting ready for Church soon. Will then put washing on and out.

DH will cook steak & mushroom pie for 7 of us today :j Then will need to talk to DD to see if we want to have a BBQ tomorrow or go our separate ways.

Happy Sunday peeps. Hope you are all well. Hugs for those who need or want. Hope you get a time to relax Bitsy. Cheers m'dears, Silver x

    Morning everyone,
Looks like another beautiful day, we have been really lucky with the weather recently.
Today I will have to get lots of batch cooking done ready for my return to work, the evenings are so busy I never seem to have time to get anything done apart from being a taxi service.
Washing will need pegging out soon and I will finish washing all the bedding today and then it is roast chicken for tea (yum!)
Yesterday I was in the supermarket and on of the assistants came up to me and said "you look like someone who would like this deal" he had a box with loads of bars of Lindt chocolate for 19p. I must look like someone who is very keen on chocolate!
    Have a lovely day everyone.:)
