Birthday Present for a non - girly girl?!

My son's girlfriend (who is lovely) is not girly at all - no make up, no jewellery, always in sneakers/ jeans/ Tshirts. She also comes from a much wealthier family than we are so generally if she wants something she buys it (she does work full time). She loves gadgets/ technology, and cars, but as I say has all the gadgets/ car things that she could want.
Its her birthday soon and I'm trying desperately to think of something I could get her. Help!!

  • Have you spoken to your DS to see if he has any idea about what she would like ?

is it a special birthday? 18,21,25,30 ect? if so you could get her maybe a necklace as its special?
or you could pay for her and boyf to have a professional photo done together? or pay for a night in a hotel?

What other interests does this young lady have apart from gadgets and cars? Instead of buying something perhaps you could do or make something for her instead.

Perhaps a pair of tickets for a concert or something?
  • TBH he's struggling too lol! I like the photo idea, and also the tickets! Thx guys! :-))

I'm in a similar position as she is, though I'm male!

I've got a keen interest in gadgets and stuff and but anything I want/need. Though I got a mini-speaker as a gift recently that I wouldn't have bought myself but I use it a lot more than I thought.

Connects to most phones these days, charges over USB - lasts for hours. Small and comes in a carry case...

    Just a thought! :)

EDIT - For the photo idea, keep an eye out on Groupon ... there is a thing pops up every so often that is pretty good.
  • mmm is always tricky buyin for folk like that - a meal voucher for the pair of them would maybe an idea

    Fancy corkscrew and wine?

    Itunes card?

USB memory stick (you can get them shaped like cars etc instead of plain ones)

    Books?

I have a little lamp with a fan - it's handy next to the computer and works by connecting to the computer via a USB port. It was only £2.99 from B&M, so more of a stocking filler, but very useful.

    I've been Money Tipped!
I'd go for a thing to to rather than a thing to keep: it sounds like that might fit the bill for her. I'm not sure how much those driving experiences cost? The ones where you drive a lorry, or a sports car, or a 4x4....sounds like she might like that?

Our local groupon had clay pigeon shooting for £20 recently....half price.
  • Ive just made OH's sister a movie hamper for her birthday, your DS girlfriend similar to her.

I put drinks, popcorn, chocolate and a plastic popcorn container in a box along with a DVD sleeve ( I made up a DVD cover for the sleeve) and placed some amazon and cinema vouchers in it)

Following up to lostinrates... a Go Ape voucher, or a voucher for an activity such as Zorbing?
