Tesco Price Checker Thread #8

I wouldn't know what reason to give for returning wine that didn't pricecheck correctly.
Is it acceptable to be forthright and say it didn't pricecheck correctly, or say something like...oops, bought the wrong wine
Nooooooooo - don't mention 'Price Check' - that'll have the Trouts frothing at the mouth :rotfl:
I say either I bought it as a pressie & it was the wrong type or duplicated or if a quantity - bought for a family party & wrong type or duplicated.
Mostly had no probs at all & offered cash back (or whatever method you paid by). If they go down the route of saying would you like to get another one, I have 10 good reasons why not! You can also sometimes get the refund put onto a Gift Card.
I'm actually only buying wine I want - but at the Asda price (if it's on offer there), as no Asda's near here. I always double check the match & only buy if I'm 100% confident it is identical, but still naughty Mr T sometimes declares it a 'n/a - no match'. I have no qualms, therefore, about returning it!
Good luck :beer:0 -
Probably morally wrong, but... I bought some wine (cant remember which but not important, it the method that counts) at Tesco for £8 a bottle. I got 2. About 3 weeks later the same wine was in Asda, 2 for £10. I still had the reciept from Tesco, so bought the wine from Asda then returned it to Tesco using the Tesco receipt and got back that extra £6.
Probally get flamed for this but I think this is Ok but only if you have a clean receipt with very few MOCs or conditional spends on it.. Also a good reason not to open up the wine you have just bought just incase their is a price change a week or so later. Also to keep your wine receipts in a safe palce incase you need to do a return.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
And talking of wine has anyone got a JTD voucher for wine this week - I've got a big shop to do at the weekend and I might need to get some wine to make the ammounts up to use up a conditional spend“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. I had a JTD Voucher earlier this week for 'Turning Leaf Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon' - on offer in A @ £5 & £7.79 in T.
Still on offer in A, but can't now see it on T's website???
'Hardys Stamp Semillon Chardonnay & Shiraz Cabernet Sauvignon' is £5.98 in A & £7.79 in T - but haven't had that confirmed. It's not even on offer in A - just cheaper!
I know that overall A & T are probably pretty similar on prices, but I do find A's wine prices consistently more competitive.0 -

Thanks for this. It certainly seems like they are price matching more now or at least that Asda and Tesco are selling different wines altogether. I like to try and find the ones on 3 for £10 or 3 for £12 in Asda or 2 for £10“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Price checked yesterday fo Thursday shop:
Isle Of Jura 10yr Old Malt Whisky 70CL T £28.29 A £20.00
Mateus Rose 75CL T £4.48 A £3.50
(Do not confuse this whisky with the Isle of Jura Single Malt Whisky Superstition (700ml) which is reduced from £30.99 to £20.00 in T - but is £31.17 in A)0 -
To all those trying to generate a new voucher:
I've made a few by getting two of the Dettol handwash systems £9.99 Mr T £5 Mr A, using £3 off vouchers from the vouchers board. I've also got lots of Dettol surface cleaner £2.09 Mr T £1 Mr A, with 50p off coupons again on the vouchers thread.
To all those who say "why don't you buy them at Asda" - don't bother replying, I have my reasons.I am firmly across the line. I won't impose my values on you if you keep away from mine.
