Feeling low

I need someone to kick me up the backside - any offers :)

I've been feeling down for the last few days and just can't seem to snap out of it.

Hubby has gone off to watch the football today (away match so left about 10am and wont be home until about 8pm) which is absolutely fine but I'm just sitting here feeling sorry for myself.

I could be doing something productive with my time (like tidying up) but I just can't muster the motivation.

Sometimes when you feel like that, a good old mope, can make you feel better, if that makes sense! :D

If you don't feel like tidying up, don't. Do something you enjoy doing. How about a nice cup of tea, or perhaps a glass of something chilled, with a movie? Or if its nice where you are, a walk in the sunshine, if you can face the wind that is.

Forget the housework! If hubby is off doing something he enjoys then perhaps you should be too?

Sounds like a little 'me' time would do you the world of good. Take yourself off for a bath with some nice bubble bath, a bottle of wine and a good book.

I can't really help with the feeling down part as I felt exactly the same about a week ago (posted about it on here) but it passed within a day or two, I don't really know what caused me to feel like that but I hope it passes just as quickly for you.

    Take care
  • I'm feeling quite similar, it's my birthday and everyone is trying to celebrate it for me but I am feeling entirely "meh" ... I have bipolar and I *know* I am definitely in a depressive period, feeling thoroughly unlike dealing with people and the sunshine is just making me feel even more "meh" as everyone assumes you should be out doing things that other people like doing but make me want to scream and run in the other direction.

I escaped out to the woods for a long walk last weekend, I'd do it again today but everyone wants to come and bring cards etc. I do much better when I don't have to deal with people, it could actually be the fact I know that birthday = people who don't usually give a monkeys bum about me wanting to act like the adore me, that is making me feel very "meh" about the world.

I often think I'd do better off living by the coast or in the countryside as I could wander off and avoid people as it suited me.

Go buy the biggest sticky toffee muffin you can find, make yourself a pot of coffee, and get stuck into them :).

I'm decidedly low too so I sympathise- you could try a little exercise to lift your mood, releases endorphins which are the natural feel good hormone. I've been for a long walk a cleared the front garden- shattered and achy now (have FMS) but a little less down.
    Give it a go!

I'm sure you all know how easy it is to get stuck in the depressed rut. You feel miserable but don't have the motivation to do anything about it so end up feeling even more miserable.

I picked my sorry !!! up, went to the shops and brought (I hope it's correct to say brought and not bought - there's another post moaning about incorrect grammar :D) myself a magazine and a cheap (£3) but delightful and bright bunch of flowers and then took myself to the cafe at our garden centre and sat there drinking tea and reading my magazine.

Feel better now and hopefully I wont sink back down to being miserable again :)

No, you bought it from the shop with money and you brought it home from the shops.
