aghhh... flat hunting is so frustrating.
OH has bizarrely fallen for a flat which is the complete opposite in most ways of what he said he wanted (2-3 bedroom house with garden out of the centre). This should be great because it's closer to what I most wanted (smallish city centre flat, cause that's what it is!) but it's much smaller than I wanted. Smaller than our current flat & OH has been saying for the last 6-12 months that we've outgrown it. I love him dearly but he confuses me immensely!
I keep thinking of all the disadvantages of a city flat...all the things he said to me on about friday about why we should get a house instead! He gets really tetchy when I mention it's smallness and says 'you're thinking in square feet but it's much better arranged than our place now' but I'm not convinced being better arranged (it definitely is tbf) makes up for being about 1/2-2/3 the sq ftage!
Maybe it's mostly thrown me because I thought it'd be him wanting somewhere I thought was too inconvenient/too big to heat cheaply/scruffy and me wanting somewhere he thought was too fancy/too loud/too small. We looked at a 2 bed house (£50pm cheaper than the flat) and I was worried he'd desperately want it when I thought it was a bit inconvenient.
I guess the only thing I can think of is that it's sunk in about me saying I might have to live somewhere else for a job on weekdays and it would be an awesome flat for 1 person on their own (except the price!)
hah... sorry about that! Needed to get it out without bothering OH! We can bring it back to toiletries by saying that if we're moving into that flat I need to use up much quicker!
Seriously, I don't have that much but I probably wouldn't even have room for a spare shampoo conditioner & shower gel in the bathroom.0 -
Have been AWOL for a week and realised that as the month is nearly over, I'd better post my UU:
M&S Ingredients Almond hand & body cream 50ml WIBA? No, I do like a lot of things in this range, but this particular scent was too strong for my liking.
Hope you are all well, need to catch up on things before the June thread starts! I had a good start to the day by running into the back of someone on the motorway in a traffic jam - no injuries & very little damage, but I'm still furious with myself . I need to quickly UU stuff too cos I need to move in Aug and CBA'd to lug loads of excess stuff with me. I have some toilettries (hair stuff mainly) that I haven't used in the 2 years I've lived here so if they are not used before I move they will be chucked/donated.
One UU hereClinique dramatically different moisturising gel 125ml - it's been spluttering for weeks! WIBA? yep, my HG of moisturiers. Luckily a friend bought me some as a birthday present few months back so don't need to spend out on replacement.

Just a quick one to report some more UUs
FCUK sugar scrub - WIBA? Not a flippin chance! It's worse than flake away  Mind you it did help me work my way thru some clean girls trying to rid my skin of all the grease :rotfl: Unfortunately I have a giant tub of it and another travel size one. I think i'll put the travel size one on the FB group and stuck the giant one on eBay - I can't face using it  It's a shame though because it smells lovely.
S&G Blueberry thrill - WIBA? Yes, I love it. I have another in my stash but i'm going to save it for now and use something a bit lighter for the warmer weather (if it ever comes back!)
S&G face soap and clarity - WIBA? Yes, another in the stash
Mitchum (sp?) roll on thing - WIBA? Yes, will have to get one. I have the spray one to try until I get another though.
Eternity perfume roll on thing from perfume-parlour - WIBA? Yes, another in the stash
That was my mad rush to UU some more stuff before the end of may!:j0 -
It is so quiet on the thread. Is everyone off doing lovely bank holiday weekend things?
Glad you are alright Hanval - that could have been nasty!!
So my Elemis SOS spot treatment is now gone. I got this as a freebie with my last order of Elemis cleanser & toner and I really liked it. WIBA? Yes as I have found this to be the most effective spot treatment I have used and I have tried a lot. I am not sure of the cost to buy which is probably :eek:. I might ask for it for a birthday gift.
I am also going to have to reduce the amount I am putting into my sealed pot per UU from £2 to £1 as I am absolutely skint this month.
I will not have anymore UU's in May so here is the round up.
18 UU's and 3 INs (Freebie Nails Inc Teal Nail Polish, Freebie Mabellene Mascara and a Charles Worthington Volume spray) with a total IN spend of £1.99. UU a Moringa Body Milk mini this morning. I have 2 full size and 2 body butters in the stash as well as lotions and butters from every shop and in every flavour ever!! :rotfl:
The bottle is currently in the washing machine with my washing following Mrs Moneypenny's (or whatever she's called) tip on C4. She used bubble bath I think but what harm can it do?0 -

Well now we've found somewhere we both love but it's expensive. More than we want to pay. It's probably worth the extra as it's enormous with nice furnishings - split over 2 levels with 2 huge attic bedrooms with lovely views & lots of light (windows on 3 sides in the biggest bedroom).
I guess the rent's low considering similar places (it's more than twice the size of our place now for an extra £60 a month) but its still a lot for us and it obviously adds up over the contract so it'd be longer before we could save up to buy somewhere (not a plan right now but still...). Grr!
EDIT: I saw that with the toiletry empties too0
