What's wrong with PAYG?Our capped SIM only gives you the control of Pay as you go with the value of Paymonthly. if you use up your credit bundle you simply top-up.
With the above you get 160 minutes for £10.
With iCard Mobile (PAYG) you get 1000 minutes to landlines or 200 minutes to mobiles for the same price.0 -
PAYG? I was under the impression that the minutes were more expensive. Have only just begun to look into this, I'm afraid. I am looking at an option of how to help my son dig himself out of a financial hole.
I did a search after posting (wrong way round I know:o) and it seems that putting a limit on a contract doesn't seem to be in the suppliers interest.

if you son is in a 'financial hole' already, the last thing he needs is a new phone contract of any kind. Surely a £10 phone and a PAYG SIM is the way to go?
Even if you can cap the usage, remember that this won't work when roaming, as the charge backs may not come in for hours or days after, depending on the local network. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Just get him Giffgaff pay and go sim card http://giffgaff.com
Pay £10 or more and get an internet allowance too.0 -
What sort of usage are you looking at for your son?
There are cost-effective ways to use PAYG - it is not necessarily more expensive than contract, and you can simply top up an agreed amount each month (you can do this by swipe card or cash machine top up).0
