Internet on the move

Once we are retired we will be spending extended holidays in our touring caravan. How can we get internet access via our laptop at a reasonable price? We only have PAYG phone so do not want to connect through that.
Also, are there any systems which can also be used abroad (Europe) ?

Having read through all that I am now totally confused! And a lot of it went way over my head!
Can anyone explain it to me simply? What do I need to buy? What will it cost? Or where can I go for help?
£30 per month and a 12 month contract is a lot, we will still be paying our home broadband as we will only be travelling half the year. And what about use abroad, would this 3G work there too?
As you can see I am not clued up about this at all!!!0
