It's had two previous owners, and yes the op should be refunded whatever the difference in selling price would have been between the car as they were told, (with 1 previous owner) and as they actually got it, (with two previous onwers).0

i bought a 2007 car from a nationwide car franchise and am happy with the car but the v5 came yesterday listing 2 former keepers.
i asked the car salesman on at least 2 occasions and was assured it had one previous owner.
the hpi check that they gave me (after trying to get me to pay £100 for ) shows 1 previous owner, which in turn gives me no confidence in that.
the listed previos owner aquired the car april 08 and the car was first registered june 07.
i feel i should be allowed some compensation for this as it was one of its unique selling points,or should i just move on and check the v5 before the sale next time
The V5 and HPI they had, would have shown one previous owner, that is one previous owner, before the current owner; which means two owners. You are the third owner, therefore it now has two previous owners. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -

I totally agree.
Now let me see, what is the difference in value of a one owner car and a two owner car........hmmm.
Aah, I know......it's beggar all.The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
When I bought my 9 month old Corsa, I saved thousands of pounds on the new price, felt it was well worth it.
(especially as it had only 15 miles on the clock):Dmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Could well be this that's happened with the OP's car - pre-registered to use as a showroom car at a discount because of the spec/colour/etc then sold on months later.
Could also be ex-courtesy (I know of a few dealers that change courtesy cars every 3000 miles, again taking advantage of discounts) etc.0 -
You should always check the V5 before buying.
They didn't lie to you though as it was 1 previous keeper to the current one the V5.0 -
Becomes 2 previous owners when you buy it.... Simples!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”
