Has anyone had this error message when running Hitman Pro35?

"HitmanPro35.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

The message comes up at about 50% but carries on running to 99% and then just hangs and does nothing.

The results show there are Trojans: TMP59.tmp, TMP79.tmp, TMP59.tmp and TMPB9.tmp.

I have tried running it again 4 times now. I use Windows XP.

Thanks all.

Have you tried force breach mode?

Hold down ctrl while you open it:

Unfortunately no luck in breach mode. Came up with the same error message. I will try Malwarebytes now.

What would happen if I just deleted these Trojan files from my C drive: TMP59.tmp, TMP79.tmp, TMP59.tmp and TMPB9.tmp? Might that cause problems? I can see them when I search for them.

How did you go with Malwarebytes? Don't forget there is Rkill if you have trouble running Malwarebytes (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill).

Yes it won't hurt to manually delete the files - Malwarebytes has a fileassassin tool found under the More Tools tab. It might ask you to reboot before it'll do it.

Try TDSSkiller in case there is a rootkit.

    Here are some alternative scanners:
Comodo Cleaning Essentials (some false positives, detects itself)
    http://help.comodo.com/topic-119-1-208-2073-downloading-comodo-cleaning-essentials.html

    SuperAntiSpyware portable
    http://www.superantispyware.com/sasportable.php

AVZ (no install needed, needs unzipping, can update)

I run a full scan with Malwarebytes last night and came up with no errors. I also run TDSSkiller with no errors. I have tried all the links on Rkill but none of them do anything when I click on these second Run prompt.

I think I will run Hijack and post the log for you, if possible, to have a look at.

I also managed to delete the Trojan files I have listed in my previous post using Malwarebytes File Assasin.

This problem with Internet Explorer redirecting me to other sites is killing me! I dare not access my bank account online with this computer.

    Hi

Ran Hijack and this is my log. I had to take some links off as the message wouldn't post with them included. Hope this is okay. Can anyone have a look for me for anything odd or anything that would cause the redirection to odd websites on IE.

    Thank you.

Could you please upload each of these to Virustotal.com which is a site that runs multiple virus scans on files. If it says they have been done before, then press 'reanalyse'.

With each one, please copy/paste the URL to the report so that I can view them.

e.g. I uploaded AppRemover.exe (a safe program), and this is the report:
    http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=30f670c5ccc959cda3a19eb7b59dfe3f570d7ca330a4389b31f444cc191d700b-1304141091

Are you accessing the internet through a Sagem USB modem by the way? I really hope you aren't, as this is very unsafe unfortunately. A USB modem has no hardware firewall.

After you've made working links to reports on those files, please post the full hijackthis log - split it into two parts if it's too long for this forum. I'd rather have the full report.

Thanks for all that. BCM is for broadcom modem, which I gather you no longer use either, but Cicache.exe isn't a known program and is suspicious. I noticed that the filename for cicache uploaded to virustotal was something completely different (same with the bcm).

Could you also upload this file to virustotal? C:\WINDOWS\system32\ESENTPRFK.dll. You can copy/paste the full path when you browse, and it'll find it automatically so you don't need to search - i.e. click browse, then paste "C:\WINDOWS\system32\ESENTPRFK.dll" into it (without speech marks) and press enter.

Here is what I suggest you change, it shouldn't take too long despite looking like a lot :)

First go into Start > Msconfig > 'Startup' tab, then look for the line about "[Dit] Dit.exe" and just untick it. Then press okay, but tell it NOT to restart yet.

Rerun Hijackthis, and Check the box next to each of these entries, and click 'Fix Checked'

Then please restart the computer. After restarting, run a Quick (not full) scan with Malwarebytes (update, clean anything it finds and post a log) and try HMP again.
