They probably overtensioned the aux drive belt. That strain wrecked the alternator bearings, and the alternator failed. If so, it's probably a good thing the alternator did fail before the overtensioned belt also wrecked the p/s pump and/or the a/c compressor.
Don't think it could be as it is a auto-tensioned aux drive belt, an has a tensioner that sets the belt automatic.0 -
oh well, unless the belt tensioner is faulty, it was a duff alternator.0
