I bought a cheap one of those from B&Q, just to try out, as the weeds down the sides of my raised beds in between the slabs are a pain.
And it's brilliant! I love it, not sure how long it will last and I need another one I can use standing up ideally, but it is great.

That's what I need! Damn, my birthday is miles away :D

This is what I want for my next birthday...a Wolf Garten Push-Pull weeder, plus both long and short handle. One of my allotment neighbours has one and raves about it so I borrowed it for an hour one day. Excellent tool, very easy on the back and with my increasingly stiff discs I'm going to need all the help I can get.

I have a speed hoe which I bought about 3 months ago from 'In-Excess' in Salisbury for £8.95. Much better than the RRP of £24.99!!

It's great, especially on the back stroke, although you do need to get the angle right. It's very quick at removing small weeds but occasionally can shoot off at an angle if it hits a rock or whatever.

Have a swoe, a Dutch Hoe and a number of others, they all have their uses, but one tool I really can say was worth every penny was the heavy duty Azada.

These things are the dog's doodahs for digging new ground or removing tough weeds like bramble. Simple to use raise the head to about shoulder height, and let it drop down to the soil in front (you do not swing it down hard) and gently lever up and repeat, in no time at all you have dug the ground and with little effort from your poor back. Really well made and last a lifetime.

As long as they can weed the Carrots and not make a mess of the Onions I am not going to interfere. :rotfl:
