I have 2 salmon fillets and some fresh cooked peeled prawns that need using up today. Normally I would make a tomato pasta dish, but though my cupboard is otherwise well stocked I don't have an onion.
Can I make a tomato based recipe without onion? I have dried herbs and fresh garlic? Or does anyone have other ideas, please?
Thanks

What about a fishermans pie
Steam the fish and flake it into the bottom of a casserole dish. Add prawns. Make a white sauce with your herbs, parsley if you have any - and pour over the fish. Make some mashed potato and top with this. I add peas to the fish/white sauce before adding the potato. Put in oven for about 15-20 mins to heat through.Yummmmmmy!

You could have the salmon with new potatoes - melt butter in the frying pan, season the salmon steaks with salt and pepper and then cook in the hot butter. Remove the salmon from the pan and if you have any you could add some white wine / chicken or fish stock to the butter. Boil rapidly to reduce by half then add your prawns and cook for a little bit longer.
If you wanted pasta, then you could have it with a parsley sauce -Cook the pasta, and at the same time steam the salmon over the cooking pasta. Then, when cooked mix it all together with a parsley sauce and maybe cherry tomatoes and the prawns.

it should be ok without onion.
If you have a leek instead that will be a good substitute for onion.Highest debt - £24500

Hi
I've got 3 salmon steaks and half a bag of prawns - both that has been frozen (and subsequently defrosted). Can I cook them and then freeze them again? I got them out as to defrost to eat them for tea tomorrow then realised that hubby is away all week with work so wont be in to eat them.
Any ideas also what to do with them?
Thanks0 -
Once cooked they can be re-frozen.
How about making Salmon & Prawn Fish Cakes or individual fish pies (you can have yours this week while hubby is away)0
