If she is working and not reliant on benefits then she can spend her own money on whatever she likes. Deprivation of capital relates to spending in order to receive benefits so unless it is a temp job and she knows she is going to have to sign back on then I don't see the problem
  • she come off benefits when she got the money and was told then she would have to prove were the money has gone if she signs on in the future
does this still count if she now starts working , but she worried about the money she has already spent if she has to sign on in the future what will she have to do

As long as she hasn't done anything wildly extravagant with the money, she doesn't need to worry.
  • i don't know what to tell her seams even if she gets a job she still has to be carefull what she spends her money on in case she has to sign on in the future and they say she spent it on the wrong stuff and wont let her sign on its so stupid

as asked previously, but not answered, what has she been spending on that she is so worried about? a modest car is ok. a ferrari and a second home in Monaco is probably not.
    Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.

I should stop worrying. As Emmze says, unless she's been spending her inheritance wildly, she'll be okay.

Living of the money is what you're meant to do and she won't be asked for all the supermarket receipts for her food!

Frankly if a person is in full time permanent employment why shouldn't they have a Ferrari or second home in Monaco if they can afford it. I was made redundant a couple of years ago and applied for pension credit, LHA and CT benefit. They only wanted details of my last job and present savings. They didn't enquire about expenditure prior to my reduncancy which seemed fair.
    It's someone else's fault.

There wouldn't be an issue here but, if you had been claiming unemployment benefits and received an inheritance and then worked for a short time and then claimed benefits again, you might be questioned on what you'd done with the money - or you might not.

The OP's friend should stop worrying.
