ICESAVE Account

There does seem to be some inconsistency in the opening process of this account - it took me nealry three weeks in all and i too never got the option of creating the DD instruction until the account was up and running.
It then took a further 8 days before i could use the DD after it was set up. I did however manage to use the BACS process 3 times while i was waiting for the DD to become operable.
Other folk reckon they set the account up and transferred funds in the following day?
One thing which is pretty positive is that everyone seems to have got there somehow - unlike the Indian ICICI which seems to be HIT and MISS, along with poor support. :beer:0 -
There are 1000's of MSE posters who've gone for it - look at my above posting which solves all these problems.Money is not the root of all evil - Money-wasting is!;)0

Just got my Icesave username through the post today. I tried to log in with the password I set up during the online application and it wouldn't let me in. Now my account has been locked out. Not a great way to win over new customers, now I guess I'll be on the phone waiting for 20 minutes.0

It's not exactly Internet Banking though. I'm with Sainsbury and their service and web site is brilliant, it acts just like a normal bank account! Not bad rate either 5.25%.0

Ive had no problems at all !! smooth !! getting through to customer services may take a little longer but on the 2 occasions ive rang them, at times that would be considered "peak"..i have waited no more than say 10 mins at most, not ideal, but hardly suprising considering the great rates they are offering !!0

For Credit of Guaranty Trust Bank Plc, Lagos, Nigeria
Swift Code GTBINGLA
According to wikipedia, all 20- codes belong to Barclays. Someone on an earlier thread mentioned that Icesave were using Barclays' clearing facilities.0 -

I tried opening a Sainsbury's Online Saver account back in September and eventually closed it on Saturday because of the incompetent customer service. I sent back their validation form FOUR times and they kept on sending me another one to complete. Then the customer service department gave me a fax number (different to the one on the letter) so I faxed the blessed thing only to get ANOTHER letter a couple of days later saying they don't accept faxed signature.
I have no problem with complying with money laundering regulations but have now given up trying... they are so incompetent that three months down the line I've given up! :mad:0 -
