Another one here who will be glued to the telly this morning!:D
Luckily its one of my days off:j
Got some ironing to do while I'm watching. I rang Mum last night - she's a huge fan of the Royal Family. She's got salmon sandwiches, jelly and a bottle of sherry at the ready:D:T
NPM - hope you all have a great few days away and that you're both feeling better x
Tea tonight is Hm veggie curry. lunch is HM macaroni cheese and salad.
Enjoy your day everyone, whether you like the RW or not x xDo what you love :happyhear0 -

tbh i dont think anything os will happening. i am forseeing a long, dreadful day. i am trying to avoid the tv as i really dont want to watch the RW
i still have so much to do... and i just dont know where to startoh i'm going to start moaning again
have a good day everyone
ETA if its any consolation bitsy i cant fit into mine either and i only wore it almost 3 yrs ago"I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Morning all....up at 5.30 to take DS2 to airport...no traffic so early...he is hoping that traffic in London won't be too bad when he gets back.
Will probably watch bits of the tv coverage of wedding....would get bored watching too long even if they were my nearest and dearest! I wish them both a long, happy and healthy life together.
Need to do some hoovering to-day and clean the downstairs en-suite....looks as if a herd of elephants has been in there, think it may have been DGSs washing mucky hands!
Dinner to-day will be the rest of the pork from Wednesday, with whatever veg I can find and some potatoes....looks as if its going to be another wonderful day here, windy but with the sun not a problem.....might in fact just make some potato salad and have that with the meat....don't want to go shopping as have declared my April GC and was a little over, am a bit apprehensive about the big shop needed to begin May, we seem to have run out of lots of things.
Going swimming later with DD3 and DGS1, was to be a bigger party but DD4 and DGS2 are going to Cork and leaving early enough to avoid traffic as Monday is a bank holiday here so people will be taking off for a second fine long weekend.
No sign of OH yet, he is normally up by now, maybe having lots more space in the bed is leading him to relax!
Need to get more seeds sown to-day, no peas or beans in yet and need to have them in before we go away in 10 days...hopefully DD4 will stay here to take care of the dogs and cats...or cat if Sile doesn't come back from the latest walk about, which is almost a week long now....I feel that she has adopted another household and just visits us when she gets bored with them....the alternative doesn't bear thinking about.
Have a lovely day everybody....nice to be on page 1 for a change!

Morning all
I'll be cooking all day today, MIL & FIL are coming for lunch tomorrow & happened to mention that BIL2 & family, who were going to be on holiday this week, have come back early & are now coming over tomorrow for lunch too, so that's an extra 5 people to cater for, we're still waiting to find out if BIL1 is coming, if he is, that could be anything between 1 & 6 extra. I like to have people visiting, but some idea of numbers would be good, lol.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good Morning all,a bit nippy at the moment and white cloud but it was like this yesterday morning so hopefully it will brighten up for them later .I just have a little bit of baking to finish off by the way Julie67 here is my recipe for an economical moist fruit cake
half a pint water or stewed strained cold tea
3 ozs Stork marg or butter (depending how flush you are)
30zs moist brown sugar
4-6ozs mixed fruit (I chuck anything I have in even some cut up glace cherries if I only have a few left over from christmas)
10 ozs self-raising flour
1 level teaspoon mixed spice
1 leve teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda
Grease and then line an 8" deep cake tin with greaseproof paper/parchment so it overlaps the top of the tin
Into a large saucepan put the
water/tea,
marg/butter,
sugar,
dried fruit, bring slowly to the boil and boil for a few minutes, leave to cool for a bit I sometimes bung a beaten egg if I have one in at this point but not before its cooled a bit or it will cook
Into a large bowl sieve the Flour, spice and bicarb altogether
When the boiled mix has cooled down a little chuck the whole lot into the bowl with the flour and mix thouroughly with a wooden spoon.Once its all mixed together shove it into the cake tin and smooth the top
put into a preheated oven for 45 minutes at gas mark 5 or 375%F after that turn the oven down a bit to Gas mark 4 or 350%F for another 30-45 minutes, checking that the top isn't getting too brown.Turn out on a baking grid to cool and this will keep as long as you don't let you OH near it.My late OH used to call it an 'Accident cake' as the first time I cooked it I forgot and the top got a bit too brown.Luckily he loved 'crisp' cake.I have been making this cake for 47 years and its never let me down yet,my DDs still ask for some 'accident cake' when they fancy some fruit cake. The only washing up is the bowl and the saucepand and wooden spoon. Its so easy to make I almost do it blindfold.Cheap as chips as well.:D
Well I had a lovely phone call from my big brother davy this morning he is coming over in mid-may for a few days from his home in France.I am so pleased as I haven't seen him for around 18 months and he was poorly a few months ago with a heart attack and had to have a stent put in.He isn't going to drive over though, he is flying in to Stanstead from Poitiers so I will drive up and pick him up.I can't wait to see him as he is a lot of fun and this morning sounded the best I have heard for ages .we speak on the phone around every 10 days or so but it will be so good to see him.
Right well I'm off to finish of the red white and blue decorated fairy cakes that I made last night for my DGS and will have one eye on the t.v. at the same time I hope everyone has a great day whatever they are doing and that the happy couple have a long and happy marriage
Take care all

Well it's overcast here but I have a load of washing on here's hoping the rain stays away until later. DW on too.
OH has wolfed a cooked breakfast and gone to the model railway exhibition. I am going to watch a bit of the wedding and then we'll see......
Whoopsied haddock goujons for tea with potato and mushy peas. We are going to try to have a frugal month and see how much we can save as we spent a bit when DD was over from Japan. Need to fill the coffers again. Ernie draw my numbers please this month.
Have a good day all.
