Blackberry sim only?

I am pretty useless when it comes to mobile phones so can someone please give me some advice?

I have bought a myself a Blackberry 9780 phone, sim free.
I am currently on Vodafone with my old phone (not Blackberry) and pay just £10 per month for 300mins and unlimited texts.

I am at the end of my contract with Vodafone so am looking at a sim only contract. Vodafone have for £15, 300 mins unlimited texts 500mb data. I want to be able to access my hotmail email and be able to browse on the internet and access Facebook etc. Will this offer be suitable? I don't really understand about downloading etc and how this is different from browsing? I told you I knew nothing about mobile phones! Will I be able to do these things with this sim deal? My husband has also bought the same phone so he will be looking to do the same as me. Do I need to be looking at anything else? It appears you need a special Blackberry sim to access Blackberry services, whatever that means. Can anyone explain in simple terms just what I need to be asking for? I have not looked at any other providers at this point.
Advice would be appreciated.
Thanks.

I can be wrong, but I think that if you don't use BB messenger you don't need a special BB sim card.

350m+500Mb/Unlimited is available for £10 p.m. at chitter chatter (t-mobile) on rolling contract. For the same price you can get 600+500/unlimited on 12 months contract.

If you want to use the Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) you need to subscribe it. Depending on the service provider it's normally about £5pm. This gives you full internet access, push email and Blackberry Messenger (BBM).

500mb is plenty, Blackberrys aren't as data hungry as some other smartphones in spite of been connected to the BIS 24/7/365. If you and your husband text each other a lot use BBM it's an instant messenger service. You can then have less texts on a lower tariff.

You don't need a Blackberry sim card you just subscribe to the Blackberry service.
