Flying to California in September this year and a little confused with which day we arrive and return.
The flights are about 10hrs and I think there is a 8hr difference in timezones
The times are quoted as follows
Sat 27th Aug Depart Heathrow 16.25
Arrive Las Vegas 18.45
Which DATE do we arrive in Las Vegas?
Sat 10th Sept - Depart San Diego 20.05
Arrive Heathrow 14.25
Which DATE do we arrive in Heathrow?
Thanks!!

Las Vegas will be Saturday evening on the 27th (10 hours flight - 8 hour time difference = 2 hours on)
Heathrow will be Sunday 11th (10 hour flight + 8 hour time difference = 18 hours on)Mortgage Aug 12 £165K, Aug 19 £0

Your airline should be able to confirm however I expect you will arrive in Las Vegas same day (27th) - 18.45 local time in Vegas is 8 hours later here so 2.45 the next morning which would be about 10 hours or so after your departure.
On the return the arrival at Heathrow will be next day (11th Sept) as you leave San Diego at 8pm local time which will be 4am the next day here so adding on 10 hours or so for your flight that will be after 2pm on the afternoon of the 11th.
Hope that makes sense:)0 -
You'll arrive in Califronia on Sat 27th Aug as your flight is ten hours and California is 8 hours behind us.
you'll arrive back in the UK on Sun 11th aug as your evening departure from California means it is already the next day here (04.05 whn you take off plus ten hour flight get syou pretty close to 1425).
I should point out that las Vegas is in Nevada rather than California and you don't make it clear if you are flying direct or changing planes in the US. Nevada is also eight hours behind London so the above arithmetic would still hold.Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!0 -
Direct flights - all makes sense and seems everyone agrees so must be right!
It was doing my head in trying to work it out, but maths makes sense
Thanks for all the replies!!!!0 -

It's worth remembering that flight times, be it departure or arrival, are always given in local time, being the time wherever the plane is at the time whether taking off or landing. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

alright, being serious. something that no one has mentioned. the itinerary / ticket in such circumstances usually state 14:25+1 or 14:25*
the +1 or * indicating the following day. the timetable certainly will0
