A rant more than anything
Parked my car purposely away from everyone at the weekend. Before i managed to get out of the car, another driver parked next to me (his front end of car was at my back end side by side) he opened his door, got out, stood chatting to his passengers. blocking me from opening the door, (whilst my DD kept shouting "i need a wee!") he eventually shut his door and went to pay for a ticket, I jumped out, grabbed DD and ran to nearest toilet whilst OH got us a parking ticket also. OH was coming back to car and noticed the other cars rear passenger was opening their door and slamming it against my car (3 times!!!!) OH shouted, passenger didnt say a word, driver came over, held the door open, didnt say anything and they walked off.
I came back, looked at my car, they've damaged side mirror (ok, its only scratched and my car now has some nice silver paint from the other car that wont budge) but i was so annoyed they didnt apologise. Left a note on their car saying they had damaged it and to call me (wanted an apology and to be honest, wanted to annoy him because he was a jacka$$)
Came home, heard nothing. Then a few days after got a very snotty phone call saying they didnt damage it (they did!) and demanding pics (fair enough) and that his is a company car and he isnt going to give me insurance details (now i didnt want this - just wanted a flipping apology!)
urgh - so annoyed at the idiot

You should report them for failing to report a RTC.0
-
Report them and pursue it from his company...that will teach him a lesson then.0

www.askmid.com - Ithink you can find out the insurance company, assuming you have the registration number of the other car."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0
-
that would have really wound me up and I would have moved my car to another space, I have done this myself in the past (moved car) because I know that people can be inconsiderate or malicious if you make any point.0

It's not worth my £50 excess fee on insurance. Only wanted an apology lol
We did ring local bobby office on day and got an incident number - they said to "let them know" if he supplies his details. I dont have the reg but hve the incident number - might just ring police back and say he's refusing to give me details0 -
You should have taken photos on the day, with the parking, the marks on the door, number plates etc, paid a few pounds on askmid to obtain his insurance details, rang his company and made a claim against him.
The first he would have known is when his insurance contacted him for his version.
You can still do it, with photographs of his paint, and advise them of the police report, then advise the police it is ongoing, and he has refused to supply details.0 -
OH wrote the incident number for the police on the letter we left and we took pics on our mobiles on the day - We've offered to email them but the email address he gave keeps rejecting it? Think he's gave us a fob one (we double checked the spelling)
To be honest, its not a brand new spanking car i have - its only a ford focus - was more the principle of it which is why i had asked him to contact me.
If he had apologied at the time i'd of just let it go lol0 -
You wont have to pay £50 excess your claiming from him, Also he will get 6 points for failing to stop and give details.
Think how much his insurance will go up.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Forgive me if this is wrong, but if someone scrapes a bit of paint off someone's mirror in a car park, by opening the door, can they really be done for failing to report an RTC? Is that not a bit excessive?
We had both sides of our lovely, spotless wee car scraped and dented by drivers who drove off in 2 different car parks. Both within a few weeks. Sickening. Couldn't get anywhere when we reported it to security as there were no witnesses.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

well - the police told us it would be reported and logged as a "non driving accident"
I've rang them to say he hasnt given me insurance details etc - They've asked me to take my details into the nearest police station (insurace docs etc) as it happened in a different county.
I thought you had to pay excess when claiming ??0
