Hi
I bought a cheap Nokia mobile from Tesco a year or so ago,for very occasional use. Registered it for Orange payg and put £20 on it by swiping my orange card at the local Spar. No problem till a while ago when Im finding that suddenly Im getting 'no network available' when attempting calls . There is still about a fiver left on the card, so has anyone any idea what the problem could be please? I know sometimes I have been 'out of range' , but now T mobile is added, I shouldnt be getting a problem . Thought Id ask on here first as if Im going to be in for a prolonged exasperating call to a call centre in India, Id rather have a glimmering of what might have happened first. Thanks.

Have you used it to call/text, or topped up within the last 6 months? If not the credit may have expired, or Orange may have cancelled the SIM, as the T&C's permit them to.

Hi. Not sure if Ive made any successful calls or not in the last 6mths - I keep the phone basically for very rare calls . Sounds like that may be whats happened then . Time flies by. Thanks. I guess thats a call to customer services in India then !!! Groan.

That won't help you if it's expired-you'll need to buy a new SIM. The credit is not retrievable or transferable..

Thanks Macman. Good news and bad news. It hasnt expired . OH managed a call from mine to his mobile ok , after fully charging mine. He thinks maybe its taken to showing 'no network available' if there isnt a high enough charge left in it.(Still showing a nearly half full though) Bit of a pain but I suppose I can just shove it on charge each night to keep it topped up and see if thats the cure.
