Problems with Retaileyes

I've been doing jobs for Retail Eyes for the last month. It's been loads of fun but as all my family have warned...Will they PAY??? Seems not at the moment. I'm hoping it's some extended delay and that I will see the 60 something quid I've spent and apparently earned appear!
Also they were great at chasing me to get the reports in on time but then I did one and the system was down so I couldn't do the report & now ....guess what.....no response from them & no more e-mails....
Seems they don't like you once they've messed up...so now no pay, no reply... and it was so much fun while it lasted0 -
@ mcsharrd, sb004g9885, HokeyCokey:
I too have had problems with Retail Eyes. (see below for details)
Due to the problems I have had I am now convinced they try to find reasons not to pay people in some cases to save money. My solution to this is to tell retail eyes that unless they pay me I will phone up their clients and tell them what retail eyes do. I am compiling a list of companies who use Retail Eyes and will follow through by calling them if I am not paid. I read on another forum that someone else tried this and retail eyes paid her! So far the list I have is only: Garfunkles, Comet (Tottenham Hale), APT nightclub in London, Wetherspoons (a London branch), Restaurant Associates and Novus Leisure Ltd. Hopefully that will get their attention!
Details of the problem:
I recently did an assignment at Garfunkles in Victoria, London and received a message saying that they could not pay me as they couldn't read the copy of the receipt I had scanned in as it was blurred. The receipt itself was printed perfectly clearly. It was then scanned in at 800ppi. I even used photoshop to adjust the brightness / contrast. They wrote back asking me to make the image a lot bigger. I then increased the size of the image to 30cm by 40cm! I even told them that as I have worked as a professional photographer, I did know that what I was sending them was correct. I told them to use a proper photo viewing piece of software for viewing it and to adjust the size and brightness / contrast if necessary. I even asked them to send me back a screen shot of what they were seeing so I could help diagnose the problem. What more could I have done?!0 -
@ Badsaver- I think that retail eyes are hired by these companies to carry out these assignments for the benefit of thier companies, so I believe that they already know. But im not totally sure.
Im also having problems with Retail Eyes at the moment. Ive been signed up to them for about a month now and have carried out four assignments for them so far. I too am convinced that they are trying to find reasons not to pay. I was paid fine for the first two, but after that they have both been held up at the proof raising stage, they ask a simple question, i give them a simple answer, then they come back and say that its not correct, for example Q."Were all windows are doors open or closed" A. All windows and doors were closed. Then they reply with "Yes but were they closed because of bad weather, or not?", this holds up the report and delays payment for another 15 days.
Also, given an assignment for a tapas restaurant, where it is advised to order 4-5 small dishes per person, Retail eyes will only reimburse for 3 dishes total, and theres no fee for doing it!!! A total con. Wont be doing anymore assignments for them.0 -
I've just done an assignment for them, where I had to purchase a Subway, take a picture of the unwrapped sub, and one of the reciept, fill in the report, upload the images, etc.
I've just had an email back asking me to provide an image of the sub on top of the reciept. This wasn't stated in the assignment notes. Obviously I can't do this now, as the sub is long gone. They then replied saying they released the job from my account and the payment will not be authorised. SHABBY!Poor Student = Freebie Addict!0 -
Never had any problems with them paying me. I do the Subway ones fairly regularly and I've always received the exact same assignment notes where it says that the photo of the sub must include the receipt and job number with it and shows examples of this.0

Never had any problems with them paying and have done over 40 assignments. Must agree that the pay is terrible and often doesn't cover the cost of the purchase. I do it for fun and to keep my brain ticking over.0

I have never had any problems with the company and now and again they said they had a problem with the report, I have rang them straight away and sorted the problem out and got paid for it. The money not that good though. Dose any one else have a list of mystery shopping company that they use and recommend? Many Thanks0

I read with amusement some of the complaints the shoppers for Retail Eyes have,as they were clearly self inflicted due to a lack of attention to detail when reading the notes. If you treat these assignments as you would any work related task, you would know to thoroughly read the detail and if you are unclear before completing the assignment ring Retail Eyes and ask.I have completed over 100 assignments for this company and the only issues I ever had were self inflicted by
a) Shopping outside the time restrictions set
b) Forgetting to take a picture of the site I visited and it was too far to return to.
Stop whining, prepare better and pay attention to detail:rotfl:!0 -
I did one assignment for them, to a pub. They asked about the outdoor presentation and were the bins outside full etc. So while there I duly noted that the bins were not full, they were fine. They sent back to tell me the site did not have bins. Er, yes it does, I might be mad but I'm not delusional. So I didn't get paid. I never did another assignment and I never will.I refuse to be afraid of the big bad wolf, spiders, or debt collection agencies; one of them's not real and the other two are powerless without my fear.
(Ok, one of them is powerless, spiders can be nasty.)
As of the last count I have cleared [STRIKE]23.16%[/STRIKE] 22.49% of my debt.

The level of pedantry in their proof reading is irritating but I could live with it but I have also had them refuse to pay me for assignments over details that were clearly their fault.
To be honest, it's an awful lot of work for very little reward and having done it for a couple of years now I have come to the conclusion that it is really not worth it. Usually you end up eating quite unpleasant mass produced food which is admittedly cheap and reporting on american style customer services that we don't really enjoy anyway.0
