Lovefilm missing discs in same envelope

I have had a LoveFilm sub for a few months now but the last 2 lots of rentals I have returned have ended up having discs go missing.
When I returned the discs ( I had three out on each occasion) I returned them with 2 discs in one envelope and one in the other. Once they go back to LoveFilm, one of the discs in the 2 pack was returned ok but not the other in the same envelope. The single disc envelope was returned fine.
Like I say, this has happened twice now and although I know its not my fault you still get the feeling LoveFilm think its you!
Just as a warning to others and also to see if this is an isolated incident or (as I believe) they have a problem in their depots.
Anyone else had this?

I have a Lovefilm account but only use it for streaming, I havent used their "by post" service. I think this is an open and shut case as they do not have a leg to stand on. How does the return postage work, do they send a pre-paid envelope or do you just return at your own cost? I just wondered as even if you used some kind of recorded delivery, then this would have no bearing as all that would prove is the parcel has arrived with them, not what is actually in it!
What are they saying when they tell you this? Is it some kind of warning or something, are they making you pay for the "missing" items? Are you penalised in some way?
I would try the streaming service, none of this hassle. Pick a film and just watch it there and then0 -

Ah right. I guess it is just Lovefilms word against the customers then as I cant see any way of knowing Lovefilm have received back everything you returned other than sending one disc in one envelope and using a trackable service for each one.0 -

As a member of Lovefilm for a number of years, I have only had one disc go missing. They have a process in which you can report the disc going missing (click "Report a problem" under the My Account menu) - they then take the issue up with Royal Mail.
I would imagine if it keeps happening, they would look to recover their costs from either the member or Royal Mail, depending on whether they can trace where the discs are going missing. I know that Lovefilm do recommend sending discs back via Recorded if it becomes apparant that discs are constantly going missing, and I assume the member is going to be liable for the extra postage charges for sending it Recorded.
I have always found Lovefilm to be helpful, so why not give them a call and explain it? They will make a note on their system that something isnt right, and it will get looked into. Talking of their phone support, they are the most helpful Indian call centre I have ever come across.0
