Had a bit of annoying news today, OH is away with work and he got a letter to say that he is over his overdraft! So the bank have charge £20 for doing that and £10 a day, so far that is £40. I am so annoyed, cause he clearly hasn't been checking his bank balances and it wipes out all the little things I am trying to add to our income. Stern words over Skype I think. Sigh.

I still haven't heard back from the job applied for. Will call them next week and have 2 more to apply for. I have 11 weeks before I go to Oz, so I really need to have something by the then. Sorry for the downbeat tone, just been that kind of an evening. I'll be back later with my happy hat on . . .

    xx

(((((hugs))))) Rock_Cakes, hope OH got a few stern words tonight, seems as though he deserves them!!

Fingers crossed re the job and good luck with the next two applications, something will turn up, stay positive (that's the hardest part, I know).

    Take care

How's the tooth Jinty? Do hope you can get it sorted before your hols, i have got the impression you may be looking forward to your hols just a little bit!! :rotfl:

Thanks BDINI and to everyone for all the kind wishes re teeth.
Yesterday was totally miserable as my face was still really sore. I went for lunch with my friend and struggled through a plate of soup while watching her munch through a lovely salad! Still, she let me moan away and cheered me up!
Phoned the dentist and they said it could take up to three weeks for my gum to settle down:eek: I've got more to come out after hols, so I'm trying NOT to think about it! Got heavy duty nuro£ens and they seem to be helping - got a decent sleep last night!
Wont manage any NSD's in the next few days as I have stuff to get for hols today plus diesel and then we're off tomorrow.
Mind you I was thinking about this - here's one for Cheryl - if you only spend the money you've saved for holiday spending money does that mean it's NSD's? The logic being that you've already put the money away in a separate account?

    I'll be popping back later,

Meantime - have a lovely day everyone:)

    Debt-free and Proud!
    Morning peeps

Another NSD today as working from home and no transport to get me to any naughty shops. So number 8 declared if you please. Should be clocking up numbers 9,10 and 11 within the next few days. I'm getting so addicted to this now I hate having to spend because it ruins my clear run of NSDs. I've also decided that because I'm now officially at risk of redundancy and all OH and I want is to live the good life, that I'm going to try and take some hints and tips from the 'make do and mend' way of living. The first part was going through my wardrobe and realising that if I take care of all the shoes I have and have them reheeled/soled as required I should be able to get away with not buying another pair of shoes for the next 9 years- and do you know what? I'm damn well going to do it too!! Now looking for ways of reusing large yoghurt pots and cream cheese tubs. Hmmmm

    M&S £2878.22/ Natwest £3526/ Loan £405/ [STRIKE]Sofa £0[/STRIKE]/ [STRIKE]Ring £0[/STRIKE]/
    Savings £12.04
    NSD 3/10
    Total £6915.88

I know it's early, but today will be an NSD: no.6.

I'm on a day off today,so loads planned, with a fair measure of pottering (something that I'm very good at).I'm also making a polenta, lemon and almond cake, but already have all the ingredients.

Wishing all follow NSDers a lovely spendfree day.

Muffinman7 hope your run of luck changes and WD on the 8 in a row!

Tough one - unless you put the money away on a Spend Day, in which case you could count that as a spend....

I don't count moving money between accounts as a spend, as I still own it. I don't even count taking money out of the bank as a spend as long as it stays in my purse, as I'm still no worse off than I was before I withdrew it. But as soon as I part with some (either cash or card), then it's a spend.

Best I'd be able to bring myself to do would be to count the first day I part with cash/use card as a spend day, and then 'allocate' the rest of my holiday budget for that purpose - and as long as I didn't spend more than I'd allocated, the rest of the time away could remain as NSDs.

Bit like I allocated funds on Tuesday (spend day) for getting liquid gold yesterday (when I'd be near a filling station), and I've seen done by others on here for haircuts, doggy haircuts etc ;)

Ouch jinty, hope your gum starts to settle down a bit quicker than that.

Re your holiday spending money, I've seen people just counting the day they actually allocate the money as a spending day as it's been "spent" in their mind and no longer available for anything else and I'm sure we've approved that when we've been asked in the past.

    Hope that helps.
