Hi Lois, I made the mistake of posting a pic of my garden on another thread when I was a newbie & now I don't feel 'safe' posting too much financial information, just in case someone recognises me
I still remember what happened to chamichelle (miss her diary) so have decided against doing my own diary. Stoopid me for posting an identifiable pic :wall:
I do still make OPs when I can. I've been really strict with my weekly shopping spends lately, so any leftover money is split between OPs & savings.'A watched potato will never chit'...0 -

No, but I've remembered, thanks Tilly. It was pasta. Must go and get some before the Co-op closes. (Yes, I know it's not the cheapest place to buy pasta, but it is when you factor in that it's the only place to buy pasta that I can walk to instead of driving.)pink_poppy wrote: »Hi Lois, I made the mistake of posting a pic of my garden on another thread when I was a newbie & now I don't feel 'safe' posting too much financial information, just in case someone recognises me

Oh I soooo recognise that dilemma. I made that mistake on another website a while ago. Nowadays if I join a website I make myself make a hard and fast decision right at the beginning about which of two types the site is, and after I've made the decision I don't allow myself to change it.
Some sites (eg facebook & ssshhhhh an online dating site I use) are "type A" sites - people know who I am or may find out who I am, so I MUST NOT post anything that I would seriously mind the whole world knowing, even if my privacy settings malfunction or something. Other sites (eg here) are "type B" sites - I want the freedom to post private stuff anonymously, so I MUST NOT post anything that could possibly identify me.
Of course, MSE does allow you to create a second ID if it's for the purpose to maintaining your privacy rather than to make millions of sock-puppets to annoy everyone. (I lurk on some of the other boards on here, and there's a lot of that going on in some places. MFW is generally the place I feel safest to post anything myself.) You could always do that, and maybe PM one or two of your cyber-friends to let them know it was you. I know I've read diaries on here that begin by introducing the person as a long time user of MSE who's invented a new name for MFW because the financial information they want to post is personal.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49

Uh-oh - spendy week coming up. DD's after school club bill for the first half of term is due, and there's a big bill for DS for something school-related too. Will have to move money across from savings account.
Still, at least there's enough in there from putting it in when there have been not so spendy months, I suppose.
I foresee lots of playing with spreadsheets to find something to be positive about!

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

This weekend doesn't feel as though it's been long enough. I don't want to go back to work for another couple of days.
Never mind. Must go and check on clothes for tomorrow for the three of us and decide if I need to do an emergency load of washing this evening. Should have done it yesterday.Starting again 13/4/19Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99Total owed: £28,801.49
