Yay that your work is almost all done!

Sounds sensible to replace the kitchen lightbulbs, if there are lots of them then replacing with energy efficient ones will prob save a lot.
Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams :)
  • I bet you will be delighted to finish off the building work. I know I will.

Well, this is where the journey really starts. I have finished borrowing more money to pay for building work. There's only a little bit left to pay for, and I'll be able to afford that without any further borrowing. So here are the stats for my first month, 7th Sept - 6th Oct.

    6th September
    Mortgage ..........£75,143.13
    Family loan 1......£12,796.89
    Family loan 2...... £ 5,241.20
    Total owing........£93,181.21

    6th October
    Mortgage ..........£74,945.14
    Family loan 1......£12,796.89
    Family loan 2...... £ 5,241.20
    Total owing........£92,983.23

    Payments made
Standard: £350.00 (£152.01 interest and £197.99 reducing the balance)
    OPs: None
    Building & related expenses: £507.79

So, what is there to celebrate?
The mortgage is now below £75k. :j
The total is now below £93k.
Adding together the building progress and the capital reduction, I'm over £700 closer to being MF on the finished house :)
All this despite having had an expensive month with contents/buildings insurance and a lot of school-related spending on the children.
    Starting again 13/4/19
    Home loan 1: £21,102.50 Home loan 2: £7,698.99
    Total owed: £28,801.49

Ta-dah! I now have a sig with numbers in! :)
I made a small payment to loan 2 this morning, but when I came to make the sig this evening, I didn't think it looked right - the mortgage and loan 2 and total all had one number crossed out and a new one, so it really really needed loan 1 to have a crossing-out and reduction too. So I've paid a v small payment to loan 1 just to make the sig look nice. :o
Have calculated I need to OP by £160 this month to take a month off the term and get a crossing-out in the bottom line of the sig. Not sure if I can manage that, but if I can it will be at the end of the month between payday and mortgage payment day. Watch this space!

    Thanks Courgette & Peonie.

Peonie - it's nice to see somebody else whose MF date is as long a haul as mine. I'm following your diary too.
