Cat bringing home dead things

I am so glad that my cat Miko hates going outdoors at the moment or else she would be bringing all manner of presents home. Yuck!
At least your cats aren't kleptos :OCompetition Wins:

Oh, Good Grief.
Gave the cats some raw chicken trimmings this afternoon. Cue lots of growling whilst eating. Never did it when they were housecats in the old flat, as I didn't want the raw meat over the floor or under the bed, so the growling was funny.
Must have sparked something off mentally, though, as the weedy girl has just launched herself at the Crow that just flapped down to see if he could have their leftovers.
Honestly. The crow is about twice her size, and flapped up onto the wall whilst she glared at it from the lawn.
Not looking forward to her bringing her first prey in, if that's how high she set her sights.
[sigh]I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
We once saw him dragging a dead rat up the road by the scruff of the neck, dragging it along like a lion would carry an antelope.
Oh that made me laugh so much!!
Most cat owners (me included) have many horror stories of dismembered body parts perfectly positioned by the bed for an un-slippered foot to squish into whilst making a middle-of-the-night dash to the bathroom.
My Nermal cat also brings in live bats during the daytime (how??) and has a frog obsession - you wanna hear the noise a frog makes at 3am when Geoffrey and Nermal are tormenting the poor thing outside my bedroom door. Cue me leaping out of bed thinking the screaming noise is the start of the apocalypse - only to put my foot straight into the aforementioned unidentified organs left from a previous successful hunt...
But my fave cat hunting story comes from my cousin. She saw one of her cats trotting towards the house, with THAT look on his face, except as he came closer she noticed his cheeks were bulging. He dashed into the house, skidded to a stop in front of her, and relieved himself of a mouthful of frog spawn all over the kitchen floor. Why, cat, why???0 -
see, in this house, anything rabbit size and up (that is deffo dead) gets put in the freezer, and fed at a later date to the dogs/cats. Proper MSE!0

I wish my cat bought home dead things. He only brings home live creatures!!!
Today he bought home his first mouse since we moved. sigh. Poor tiny little thing, was only a baby! I got the cat to drop it and shut him in the porch. I thought it was dead, but thank god I covered it with a box before I went too far, as it got up and started squeaking. We've released him outside (our house backs onto woods) and have trapped the cat inside, who is now looking very smug.
Still, I guess it could be worse. He bought home a rat at the last house, dropped it and it ran behind the washing machine and managed to work its way up the walls and into the ceilings! We had to listen to it for weeks until the council came round with their poison
We've had a few live birds flapping about the house, some moths, a cricket or two and a lizard (all live and safely released back into the wild). My personal favourite was when he proudly presented me with a stick! He can bring more of those back!
I'm having second thoughts about getting him a catflap now! :rotfl:"Born to shop, forced to work!"0
