central heating repairs/replace on Benefits ?

Please move if this is not on the right place.

I remember AGES ago reading on one of these threads about if your central heating dies, or you having problems with an OLDER system which is unable to be repaired, being able to get a discounted replacement if you are on Tax credits, or something ??

I sort of HALF read it, because although I receive Tax credits, my ch was limping on nicely......very old, but wheezing on. Well, I think it may just have died !! Just in time for Xmas.

Of course NOW I cannot seem to find the thread - I don't know if it was on the benefits bit, or here on the utilities.....does anyone know anything about this ?? Or could you point me in the right direction ?

Many, many thanks in advance
