Hi Just goack from Mr A's a small spend for this week of £20.39. Want to try and use up what I have already got. Coming down with a cold and not feeling very well which also helps with the amount of money spent.2025 Decluttering 10472⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

cat, I've put your sausage casserole in the index
I love that its so very simply stated. I hate fiddly f@rty recipes - this is a quote from a recipe I found online a while ago:
'... Tap the egg to crack the shell - only tap the egg ONCE! ... '
I'm sure I'd have to tap my egg twice so didn't feel qualified to do the recipe :rotfl:... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Which app please, and (importantly) is it free?

Just madness. I hate the way the Mr W ones specify exactly which type of woodland organic eggs you should use. They work just fine with my homegrown free range ones, thanks.
F&V box came today, and I followed Ragz idea and costed it against Mr S. the box cost me £13 delivered, the same basket online is estimated at £25.03. Happy with that. I wouldn't buy everything that is in the box, but also we simply wouldn't eat as much F&V if we didn't have a box.
Boys insisted on an icecream on the way home, so we invested £1.50 on some cornets and £1.63 on some ice cream. They took some convincing that they could have at least 8 ice creams for the same money as two cornettos from the shop but we got there in the end. Must remember not to take money on school run in future. Most of the branded ice cream bars are on 2 for £3 in the co-op but they didn't have anything we liked.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Got home and decided to do a bit of cooking. Knocked the cookbooks over which sent my card index of recipes flying across the kitchen, cards everywhere. The box didn't break & nothing landed in the pan soaking in the sink, so I picked it all up and put it back, only to knock it off again, this time the box did break. (Who, me clumsy??) Thought I would make carrot cake to use up some of last week's whoopsied bag of carrots, reached into the bag & found that two of them had gone liquid in the bottom of the bag  and of course they had "bled" all over the others. Somehow I hadn't even noticed but once they were out they STANK, yeuch
. In a way it was lucky that the goo had got onto the bag of potatoes (also whoopsied) I had just put in the veg drawer - I emptied the potatoes from the bag & found two were already brown and squishy on one side which I hadn't noticed in the shop. It looked like the bag had been dropped from a huge height  and several of the spuds were bashed or split.
Sorry - had to laugh!! Evidently you just weren't meant to make that carrot cake!!!!!!!!!!! Shame, though - it's delicious.
Had my first spend of the month yesterday. Went to Waitrose . Not my usual haunt but as poor no1 gs had been poorly had been over to my daughters to be with hin while she was at work. They have a W in the village and a) I had a £5 off £40 voucher b) it saved me the petrol to go to Ts or As. Besides - it made a change!! Spent £44.something - I'll look at the amount and update sig later.
Did treat us to some cod loin so will have that this evening with some pots and peas. Have remains af a bread pud in the fridge (used up stale ends) so supper's sorted. Lunch was hm veg soup, hm bread, hm spicd apple yog so a frugal lunch and a fish(not so frugal) supper. The month's not going too badly so far............yes, I know - it's only the 6th!!!!!

This month so far has started well with 6 NSD's (helped by the fact that OH forgot to pick up onions & bread flour).
I've been looking at our spends to date (Jan - end of April) on our annual budget, we have spent less than we budgeted but still more than I hoped. Having been racking my brain for a reason, think it may be due to frequency of guests we entertain. This weekend alone we served an extra 5 adults breakfasts, 7 adults 1 child lunches, 9 adult 3 children's dinners. I don't think I could come up with a way to budget for this separately that will work for us, instead I need to find cheap(er) meals that we can make without much notice as we don't often plan theses visits much in advance. Off to scour this site for suitable recipes.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

I have just put in an approved food order, with delivery, it comes in at £41.08. I am hoping that all I will need for the next week or two is a bit of the fresh stuff, i.e. fruit, veg and bread and milk.
I really need to pull my horns in now as i have just DGD and myself to feed, and income has dropped by £110 a week at the moment. EEEk
I know i can do it, as I did it the previous couple of years, I have just got lazy over the last 5-6 months! Slap my wrist!.When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
