MBNA Mastercard

I paid for some goods using my MBNA mastercard from a company based in Canada that I have used several times before and the goods normally arrive within a week.
It is now over 2 weeks since the goods were dispatched and as each day goes by I am feeling less confident that the goods will arrive.
Can I go to MBNA/Mastercard for them to issue a refund ... I know Visa protect purchases but could not find anything about MBNA/Mastercard doing the same.
Also if this is possible then does this affect the seller or is it just an insurance claim and they get to keep the money (I am confident they will have shipped and that somehow the goods are lost somewhere). I am told that delivery is not trackable.
Thanks in advance.

You card company typically has to wait 30 days after the transaction before they can make a claim for non receipt of goods. You will need to chase the merchant first of all and then if they do not resolve it you will need to provide evidence of your resolution attempts to the cc.
You would need to provide to the CC
-Details of delivery-address and timeframes
-You resolution attempts with the merchant-method (email, phone), dates and what they said
The merchant could reject the claim but they would have to provide evidence that either the goods were delivered to you or that you had a refund.
Hope that helps0 -
Thanks Monkeychops.
I have spoken to the merchant and we have agreed to leave this until 13th May (goods sent on 13th April) and if they have still not arrived then they will send a replacement order.
So it looks like I will not be out of pocket, if they keep to their word which I believe they will.
Edit: The goods finally arrived on 30th April, some 17 days after they were sent.0
