new mobile damaged sent refurbished one
i recently accidentley damaged my mobile phone (samsung galaxy s on orange contract) informed orange who because thankfully i had taken insurance out sent me what i thought was a new one the next day on checking the phone it was quite obvious this phone was not new but 2nd hand i am really annoyed about this and really hate the phone now as it was quite obvious someone had had this before me, i straightaway informed orange so called customer care after being ignored the 1st time i phoned again only to get that standard reply that this is company policy to send refurbished phones out for replacments i pay a lge amount on contract every month to orange and im really annoyed that they have done this is it wrong to expect a new one sfter all when you pay insurance for any thing else you expect new for new can any one help regarding this iam sure its not right for them to do it

It is quite common for replacement technology under warranty to not be brand new, as long as it was a cleared down phone and it works what's the problem?0

Can you afford a new keyboard with working 'Shift' keys and punctuation marks?0 -
You sent Orange a second hand phone and they sent you one back?
If it's all checked an guaranteed what is the problem, you are in the exact position you were in before?
Also the monthly contract is separate to the handset, the large amount of money you pay a month is for all those minutes and messages0 -

Tend to agree, particularly if it's in the T & Cs about refurbished replacements, but are you really sure that the contract is only to pay for the airtime and the phone is free - I'll have to disagree with you there I'm afraid0 -
Id agree with all the post and depends what condition its in if its scratched all over etc and looks like its been draged through a bush then id say yes its wrong but if its like new you cant complain.0

The reason they don't send out new handsets should be obvious, it'd cost them a bloody fortune and the system would be open to abuse.
'Err I've had my iPhone for two years and I broke it, can you send me a brand new one? Thanks'0
