  • No you misunderstand. I am desperate to start the garage. It's just I have no idea how many hours/days/weeks/months it will take to reclaim it :)

My love, together we can conquer anything. Even the garage.

I haven't had any emails about the free listings though and isn't showing on my announcements yet. Hopefully it will come through later.

In our last four interviews between us we have both been told that we were a very close second. One day the world will have to run out of these people who are marginally better than us...

:o awww shucks, nobody believes me because it wasn't on the announcements page - but there was a notification in a special place on thursday ;)

and yes, you are both destined for something good, so you will get one of these jobs :) Karma and all that.

btw, I have been promoted at work, more money, but 4 days a week. the good thing is they are prepared to talk about school in sept and hours, etc.
  • I always believed you Aesop ;) Many congratulations on your promotion.

I've listed four big items today - both in price and actual size - so hopefully they will sell. They are listed for £360 between them and currently taking up about half of the office so will be money AND space if they sell.

On the jobs front I had some online test for one i applied for. I cleared those and have been told I will be contacted for a telephone interview soon.
  • Today we started the mission. To reclaim the garage. After a lot of shifting and two trips to the recycling centre we have made some real progress. Most of the rubbish has gone - some is still in the car ready to go to a charity shop in the week.

It always feels good to get rid of rubbish and make room, but it was particularly satisfying as we were doing the garage. We worked well together as well, which is nice because PBS has often been overwhelmed by the garage in the past. This is mainly because we have used it as a dumping ground. We threw out some stuff today that has sat there unused since we moved in over four years ago. I'm determined that we don't let that happen again.

We sold something on ebay today for £16.03 which I had thought would be a dump job so that's always good. PBS doing DD's bedtime story now so hopefully when she's in bed we'll get a chance to do a few more bits on ebay before the free listings run out.

WooHoo! Garage is looking SOOOO much better! And we got some more 'treasure' to list on eBay AND I salvaged some perfectly good stuff from the recycling centre (even though you're not meant to take anything)

I got 3 books, a demi john, and a brand new car seat for DD - and I mean completely brand new. It is shocking the stuff some people will throw away.

ATS is right, we have worked really well today. I think we can push on for another 30 mins or so and then have a well earned rest tonight.

Really brilliant weekend. Cut my parents hedge as a suprise for them when they get back off holiday, cleared, cleaned and sorted over 50% of the garage. Got more 'treasure' to list on ebay. Got free car seat. Did some ebay listing. Had lovely time with the kids. Just lovely all round really. No stress, no agro or hassle, just busy but rewarding and relaxing. Only blot on the landscape was our laptop broke :( hopefully it is still under the protection plan. Need to take it today for repairs.

    This week we must:
    • [STRIKE]Take laptop for repairs[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]ATS to 'sign on':eek[/STRIKE]:
    • Do more ebay listing - aim for 35 items
    • [STRIKE]Take car for service / repairs[/STRIKE]
    • Hopefully, accept new job.... :o

    Hi Aesop,

Good news on the promotion, well done! I hope it helps your MSE quest.
