Its strange, I've wanted to post for a few days but haven't had time. ATS is right, things are progressing slowly, yes - but surely. I feel really good progress has been made on the back Friday and today (not yesterday as we had a kids party to go to, the one with the Wendy House...) I'm really hoping tomorrow, Thurday and Friday we can get together and kick some back yard bum! When the wall is being built this week that will really start to change the yard, bring it substantially closer to our vision.
Yes ebay is slow, but we weren't on top form during the listing weekend so we shouldn't complain. We know our decent stuff is running out, but we have identified some more junk to sell in the form of bits of metal hanging round the place (Kitchen blinds by the way ATS beofre I forget again) it won't be much, but £20 towards our target for the stove is £20.
ATS got an email this week that our energy supplier is increasing prices by 18% in September. So before then we must;- finish insulating and boarding the attic
- Insulate the extension (roofers are doing that)
- Fix cooker door
- Make start on thickening curtains
- Make fleece window panels
- Make blind for bathroom window
- Draught excluding strips for the front door
- Curtain for the front door
- Get boiler serviced
- Buy hatchet
- Buy wood moisture tester
- Chop wood
- INSTALL STOVE

Ok quickie from me. £95 from eBay this weekend. Maybe couple quid more or less depending on what postage comes to. That leave abot £280 to find for the stove which is due a month on Friday. Infinetly do-able I think. Sometimes in looking for the high value items we forget how quickly fivers here and there can add up. We certainly used to when we were spending them! ATS, we should aim to list 5 items each tomorrow, before we go spendy spendy on the pipe and cement.

Hi both, just catching up on your diary, a great read as ever. You both sound as comitted and busy as ever- well done both.
My caring responsibilities have lessened now so hope to get going on my diary again, as always you an inspiration x0 -
Hi Lilykins - Thanks for always for your interest and support. I have been reading what you have been saying on the Simplifying Life thread and I have a book that I would like to give you. It is called Timeless Simplicity. If you would like it (for free - we are trying to generate some positive karma!) then just send me your address via the private message function. No need to tell me your name, we all need a bit of anonimity.

Hi there PBS, have PM'd you, but just wanted to publically thank you very much for the book- it was very kind of you to think of me and to take the trouble to get the book to me.
How's e-bay going? I need to get going on it again now, made over £30 last week, also need to do car-boot but hate doing those.
Thank you again0 -
It wasnt any trouble. We were literally passing the end of your road anyway.0

Haven't posted for a few days as been busy with work but on Monday ATS and I went foraging and made jam! 10 jars of the most delicious sweet tasting jam ever! It was so much fun.
2nd payday today. So paid £500 off Credit Card, that's 68% paid off since February. Really proud of that and spurred on to keep going. However, have a confession to make - and I feel awful about it - I spent £38 last night in the pub. £38! I need to shift a lot of crap on ebay to make £38! But it's done and I'm going to try and use how awful I feel to remind me not to do it again. Just pull in the horns a bit more to compensate.
Work had not processed my expenses, so I will get double expenses next month, probably in the region of £300 or so. Unless otherwise needed this can go straight on the Credit Card. I think ATS said the due date for clearing it is November. That's be amazing.
Must do some ebaying soon. Only have one item selling at the moment, and whilst it should go for £13ish, we need more than £13 for the stove!!
Hoping the weather will be dry tomorrow so we can crack on with the back yard.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746

Hi PBS, we all have blips now and again and i'm sure you will make the £38 back, also it shows how well you are doing that it was cash and not put on the CC.
Hope the weather improves for you today and you can get the back done.0 -
It's been a slow few MSE days since my last post, busy - but just not in an MSE way at all. My 'should be £13 item' on ebay went for £6.50
Annoying, but hey ho, you win some you lose some. This week is a tiny bit better, got 5 items selling, 3 will be low amounts I think, but two should be closer to the tenner mark. And sold 2 DVD's on Amazon too. Havn't had any time to list stuff really and also a PineCone survey closed before I had chance to do it, si that £3 I dibbed out on there too. MUST DO BETTER.
One bit good news is that my being cheeky in asking someone for a free water tank paid off! Not only did they say yes (saving a minimum of £32, possibly more) but they said they can deliver too, which is fab as chances are we would not have been able to get the thing in our car anyway.
ATS did some good home maintenance yesterday and cleared out and fixed a bit of wonky guttering. We need to repaint the bit of the house where the drip got rid of all teh paint, but frankly the whole has could do with a repaint, given it is at least 4 years since its been done - and we live on a road and get dust and fumes etc. We'll do it after the roofer and the stove fitter have been though and hopefully there'll be enough of the original paint leftover in the garage otherwise we'll have to buy some.- Mortgage over-payments to date: = £16,746
