Alybaly - Funnily enough I think I would be the opposite - i.e. be tempted to spend more if I actually went to a bingo place but well done anyway!

Hi - a bit late to the party, but please put me down for £10 a day. I really need to clear a big credit card debt which I am currently trying to shift to a 20-month interest fee deal. Made a start today when I picked up a pair of Thomas the Tank engine curtains at a local charity shop - hope to sell them for a profit on ebay. Going to scour quidco for no spend/profit deals, have a good ebay clear out and coupon like mad.

Ive kinda saved myself £1000 this morning!! :D

I dont check my bank, its more of a quick peek now and again, i know its overdrawn, and the debt ive got is in the form of an overdraft!! :(

For a very long time i was at the bottom of 2 x £2500 overdrafts, so £5000 total ! a couple of years ago i came into some money, so paid them both off, but unfortunatly kept spending on my main account and became overdrawn again, the other account i cancelled the overdraft facility, like i said this was all a few years back.

When ive been thinking about my debt ive always thought it was for around £2500 (the remaining overdraft) well i checked my online banking this morning, with a bit more than a quick peek just to see what balances were available and my overdrafts limit is £1500 not £2500, soooo ive kinda saved / or knocked £1000 off my debt
Cant help but feel chuffed ( and a little :o ) at the same time, if you see what i mean.

The reason i was checking the funds available was to post ebay items this morning ~ £53 spent on postage alone  good job i'll be getting that back!

Are savings made on imaginary debts allowed to be counted?? :rotfl:

Sold some gold last week, cleared in bank today- so thats £150.33 from the lovely people at Hatton Gardens Metals- this means I've already met my May target, but I'm gonna keep ploughing on see what I get to.

    Hi everyone :hello:

I'm back from my holidays and rarrrrrring to go with the money saving. Can't believe I missed out on free listings on ebay but sure they will come back around soon :)

Anyway, we go away again in exactly a months time (yes, we're being very greedy this year and having two holidays but very close together, so really must UP the game a bit) so want to try and get a bit of extra spends in to take. DS has been pestering to do a carboot (sigh- only did one about 3/4 weeks ago and didn't make much at all, not enough to make up for the 4.30am wake up anyway _pale_ ) so might take him this Sunday if the forecast is good.

Also going to list some stuff in free ad's when I get sorted, still sorting through mount wash-more at the moment so hoping to make a crack on that and then can start getting my head around money saving :o

All things considered I'm going to be on here alot over the next month :D

    sweet x

Been a good month for me so far. Mainly down to fleaBay and Amazon I must say. I listed about 10 items all starting at 99p and ended up netting the best part of £75 - got another 10 or so still listed but with higher starting prices and loads of watchers no no bids yet - is there lesson there?

Must keep on top of adding stuff to sell, don't want my good run to dry up.

  • Well, the latest free listings weekend on fleaBay has come and gone, and I listed exactly one item :o

However, the good news is that the one item sold today for the BIN price, so after fees and postage (providing I have calculated the latter correctly), I shall have netted £128.72! :j

Even though I have surpassed my overall goal for the month of £155, I am going to continue to try and make a bit of extra cash for the remainder of the month. :)

And I am definitely going to join the challenge again next month!
