We are in a similar position (toilet drain/Manhole where we plan an extension) - could someone please give me a "ball park" figure for moving a manhole about 12 feet out from a property ?

I can't answer the cost question, but be aware (as already referred to by another poster) that if you're planning to build or extend within a certain distance of drains, you will need to get the permission of the water board - it's not just B Regs.

Not all water companies are happy to grant build-over permission, so don't assume you'll get it. I was specifically advised by my solicitor of this when I bought, as the drains run about 2m from my rear wall and it will be difficult, if not impossible, to get Y Water to approve for any extension if their current stance is generally maintained.

That's exactly how and where my drains are running. I am thinking of an extension but not sure what my options are as yet.
