I did one last week and used this site. http://www.freemyblackberry.com/unlockcode.php

They will email you an unlock code for free but you have wait 24 hours or 48 if you don't have the MEP code.

You can get your MEP here http://www.unlockdata.co.uk/mep.asp

The code I got turned up the next day and worked first time. Don't keep trying if the code doesn't work!

If you're not confident you know what you're doing get someone else to do it.

There are plenty of on-line instructions on how to do it but make sure you get the right instructions for your model!!
