Car Insurance ...!!!

Options
Don't you think that car insurance companies are scam masters!

I went to renew my car insurance at the weekend after receiving a quote from Elephant for £490. I visited a comparison website and discovered I could save myself over £100 as well as lower my excess. When I contacted Elephant and told them I didn't wish to renew they asked who the new quote was with ... it was Diamond. Well surprise surprise Diamond was one of their sister companies ... as was Bell and Admiral. They then scrutinised my quote online, picked holes in a couple of conflicting details and then dropped my renewal to £390 .......

What ever happend to looking after the loyal customer???

Totally agree, i am just trawling the comparison site, my hubby's renewal is £490 we have a 10 year old car he has full no claims bonus with no convictions, £490 is a rip off but even on comparison sites its coming out at £470 cheapest. its no wonder so many people go about without insurance

I'm afraid customer loyalty died many years ago. Its a standard ruse. Although I have to say when my renewal was up with Admiral they didn't seem to have inflated the price - not by any I could work out anyway.

Just took a policy out with Admiral - £550 for 21 year old with 2 years NCB not bad I thought! Yes it doesn't have many 'add ons' and my excess is high but I've got a 10 year old car and doubt I'd claim on my policy if I was ever to bump/crash it.

Overall though yes insurance is expensive especially considering the standard of service you get should you be involved in an accident.

In principle I don't renew when the offer to match a better quote. I just tell them next time give me your best price in the first place and feel free to try again in 12 months!

Utterly worthless - It would of been something very important to me but it sounds like they will simply pay up to £500 for any new parts you can prove you bought that were stolen.

The sales person I spoke too couldn't even tell me any T&C's of it!
Nothing I say represents any past, present or future employer.

Erm, what else do you want it to do? Pay up for parts you didn't buy?

Any *new* parts - what if you bought second hand? What about the cost of fitting?

Ah fair point. Don't think that makes it totally worthless though...
