Harrassment at Gym

I would hope that the gym has a proper policy on harassment in place and you should use this. Good luck0

Trouble is - how do you prove he got the number from the system ? He could say - well the OP gave it to me?? (Which I am not saying they did)
Even if he did say that, I'd be very surprised if the company didn't take this seriously. In fact, even if she had handed him her number, I would have thought that there's a good chance that trainer/trainee relationships are at least frowned upon. The inappropriate texts don't reflect well on him professionally, wherever he got the number from.
When you see personal training advertised at gyms there is always a lot of emphasis on a safe environment, and a trainer you can really trust and feel comfortable with. Many women would be hesitant to get a male trainer for fear of sleazy remarks like this, so it's really important that they behave themselves and I would have thought the company would take it really seriously when they don't. And I bet there's a good chance that the OP isn't the only one who's been treated in this way.0 -

I absolutely agree 100% that the texts are totally wrong - I was just playings Devil's Advocate about the source of the number.
Yes, of course mention that the OP did NOT give him their number - but it is pure speculation from there as to where he got it from.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Can you show us the texts? I'm pretty curious as to what he may have said.0

Agreed - but my point is that it shouldn't matter, because even if she was batting her eyelashes at him and handing him her number, he should be behaving professionally whilst he's still her trainer.
Unless, of course, his first text happens to start with 'Hey, I got your number from the computer system...' which would be rather handy!0 -
A good point. How does the OP know how he got her number? One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Perchance that this
(Freddie could had used other words here, but see his sig) obtained it through other means, And could this be a breach oif Data Protection.
ooops, if this is the case, I suugest OP in the first instance notifies the gym og this through their 'Normal Channels'
Otherwise I would be down the Blue Lamp place opposite the Dog and Duck, telling the Police to get involved.0 -

Curious as you may be, you could be the trainer in question, or you could ruin any chances the OP has of taking action against him.
As someone else said, even if she had given him her number, I am pretty sure he would have a code of professional conduct to abide by.0 -
How low on earth are the chances that I could be the trainer in question? Out of all the sites on the internet you think I would know that the party who created this thread visits moneysavingexpert? Lol0

"Just look at the texts I received from the personal trainer at the gym" The texts exist, see them try and wriggle out of that. Remember Truth is an absolute defence against slander/libel.0
