if you use small screws in my method above in the event of an emergency a good push from an adult will shear the screw heads.0

When we stayed at my mum's I used a stair gate (pressure fitted one) just inside the window frame. That way there was no damage to the window or frame and we could take it out quickly in an emergency.I would if I could but I can't so I won't!0
