Something to stop window from opening too much?

Hi,
We have mahogoney windows upstairs, just push out at bottom to open. As our toddler is getting bigger now it would be safer to have a little chain or something to stop opening too much.
Has anyone seen something like this anywhere?
thanks

I have the same issue, only thing I've found are these http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9276819&fh_location=//catal!!!1/en_GB/categories%3C%7B9372016%7D/categories%3C%7B9372049%7D/categories%3C%7B9372275%7D/categories%3C%7B9392112%7D/specificationsProductType=locks&tmcampid=4&tmad=c&ecamp=cse_go&CAWELAID=266931351 and I didn't really want to screw into the UPVC, but needs must I suppose. Allow room to vent, but not open wide. Not moved into new house as yet so I can't tell you how well they work, sorry.0

See if your window can be made to open to vent at the top, better than losing your babe, or him shutting his fingers in it, by trying to shut the window.C.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z # 40 spanner supervisor. No problem can withstand the assault of sustained thought.Only after the last tree has been cut down. I got these to stop my cats jumping out of the windows - work really well restricting the gap to just an inch on all the various size windows I have. Also a lot cheaper than everything linked to so far!

Thanks for replies and sorry for taking a while to get back. I had a good look at all the stuff linked to and just wondering if I bought chain in a diy store, cut it into maybe 4-5 inch lengths then just attach one end to window (with a screw through centre of chain) and the other end to the frame, that it might serve the purpose thatI want.
What do you think?

Even cheaper, open window to required vent, mark where the hinge stops on the sliding channel and bang 2 screws into each side, hey presto. When the screws are removed you'll hardly see the holes left.0

Only thing to bare in mind with this is the following two issues:
1. You'll have created holes in the windows (that cost £££s to buy in the first place)
2. In a fire you'll be hunting around for a screwdriver to try and let yourself out, or you'll be outside watching your loved ones perish as they can't escape.
For the sake of £3.50 per window, its worth buying proper catches that allow the window to be opened in an emergency without tools.0
