I wonder if anyone can clarify this for me.
I signed up on Media Media last month through their website. The cost shown on the site was:
What you'll pay
Monthly cost
Your bundle £5.00
Virgin phone line £12.99
Your extras FREE
Total £17.99
£17.99 for the first 3 months
£26.49 after that
Now I've just got the bill and their charging me £26.49.
I've just phoned the call centre and she says this is correct as I'm getting a discount because I'm not paying for the line rental of £12.99 and that after the 3 months I'll be paying the £26.49 plus £12.99. When I queried this line rental she told me it was a government thing that I have to pay.
I'm totally confused here - can anyone help. She's getting the account manager to phone me back so any help would be appreciated before he calls.
Thanks

What services have you actually got?
The Virgin website shows prices with and without the phone. Although the phone is £12.99 a month if you don't take it then you lose the discount for having it and the saving is nearer to £3 than £13 depending on package.
Virgin will have sent you full details in writing of everything you agreed to before it was installed.0 -
Hi,
I've got Broadband L and phone M which when selected shows the same pricing I put in my first post. The agreement they sent me showed the higher price so I returned it (not signed) with a note showing what it said on their website expecting them to honour what shows on their website.0 -
You cannot do any thing for any one

The prices on the site are as you said
£12.99 phone, BB L £5 for 3 months then £13.50
It is fairly normal for the contract to not show discounts I think and they state that on the covering letter. The bill itself will be confusing too as it will show BB L as more than £13.50 but there will be a discount line too. What matters is what you will actually pay and your first month should be £17.99 + any install charge if it wasn't on offer free when you joined.
If you are being charged more you need to phone them again. Use the "I'm thinking of leaving" option and you'll get somebody with more than half a brain cell.0
