If your friend prefers to recover Linpus Lite, you can utilise the instructions here. You'll need to download the image via the linked torrent.
Perhaps you can burn the image to disc, haven't looked yet.
But Ubuntu Netbook will do the trick. It's on my ZG5.0 -
