Priceline $111 Sheraton Boston 3+ star

Just to let you know as per Martins advice I tried priceline.com for our upcoming trip to Boston. After looking at central hotels, I was not finding much under £150 per night (and there were 2 stars).
I started bidding on Priceline for 3+ or 4 stared hotels in boston centre (you can choose areas too) starting at a silly $50 per night
You only get one bid per day unless you change some of your original request so try 4 star first that add the 3+ star and up your bid by $5 and just start with one area and again if you keep adding an area and keep going up by $5 this will allow you more bids in the day.
I was absolutely delighted to get accepted at $111 per night from the Sheraton Boston Hotel, which when I checked out their website found the rooms for the same date starting at $288 and after searching the web found nothing for this hotel on the dates I booked for under that price.
I am so happy and excited that I had to join the forum just to say "thank you Martin :Tfor that great tip ".
I now only have to start bidding for the next steps of our roadtrip down the east coast of the USA but am far happier!!!!

Welcome to MSE, glad you are happy with the winning bid
I wrote a "Priceline Bidding Advice" article a few years back, well worth a read TBHO before you bid again
Around the same time I also wrote one for Hotwire which is a simialr system
There is also a Priceline Bidding guide by MSE (they copied it from me)
Yet the Priceline system stops this, because it allows one bid per day. However, there's a workaround. Thanks to all those MoneySavers, especially Blindman (see his Priceline bidding guide), for lots of tips and info.
and there is a Report your Priceline wins thread.
Recently MSE have added a Hotwire guide too which also has its own thread
Happy bidding!0 -
