Sainsburys stores will not keep these vouchers they will be sent to their head office where they will be destroyed. Stores have a variety of coupons/vouchers that will all be sent to Head office to be either sent for refunds from the manufacturers (usually through a clearing company like Nielsons) or destroyed if they Sainsburys own named coupons. These vouchers/coupons are sent to HO as they foot the bill for the store accepting them and also to balance the tills. If they didn't have to send them in a store could claim they had accepted £1000 worth of Tesco vouchers and pocket the cash.0

Coupon-mad wrote:No, it's better than that, it seems you can get the value twice!
So you can convert them online to Bella Italia Deals AND use the original 'used' vouchers in Sainsburys. Don't throw the original Vouchers out after converting them to Deals!
Now it all makes sense:D
Glad I re-read this thread as I thought it was the converted deals you could use.
Thanks a million-I'll keep vouchers in future..

Is this insider knowledge or just clever logical theory you have come up with based on the workings of other coupons :T
I thought it might also be plausible that they are simply destroyed on site at the store? Reason being that acceptance is maybe on a store by store basis depending on the store manager. If a branch is directly next to a Tesco or something the store manager will decide to accept these at his/her branch, taking a direct loss to the store in the hope that they gained more from other shopping on the day or stealing a customer in the long term...They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -

Just posted my thoughts in another thread and I thought it might be worth posting them again here. I realise that some of these issues have already been discussed and at the other day it's a matter of opinion and we could go on discusiing this for days. Certainly nothing in the way of breaking laws
"How is it fraud when no one is being defrauded???
Tesco's point of view is that they will reward past customers for their previous spending by giving these clubcard coupons, or giving us deals. We claim this from Tesco once and once only, as it no longer works on their system after one use. These are rightfully ours as we have already done the shopping to gain the points.
Sainsbury's point of view is that shoppers with clubcard vouchers are probably very loyal Tesco customers. They hope that by letting us spend our vouchers in their store and taking the loss, they will maybe 'steal' these loyal Tesco customers. Maybe we will spend even more on the day and they will get profit from that cusotmer that they might never have got otherwise (it is the same as Tesco taking £2 off £20 spend Sainsbury coupons).
At the end of the day you could argue that both sides are happy:
Tesco is happy that we earned our deals in their store and also that Sainsbury's took a hit. Hopefully they don't loose the customer.
Sainsbury's is happy that they got a Tesco customer to enter the store, and maybe gained that customer for good. They are extra happy if Tesco had to pay out their deals aswell in this process.
I do not see where the fraud is occuring as the supermarkets do not redeem these coupons against each other anyway! (unless my theory that Sainsbury plans to send managers into Tesco to spend these on R&R holds true :P)."They say you can't put a value on life... but I live it at half price!0 -
Anyone know of any Sainsburys in Norfolk or Suffolk that accepts the cc vouchers? Thanks Jess0

I noticed Norwich was on the list someone posted on the last page...I know that because a friend of mine lives there and I emailed her about it so she doesn't throw her vouchers away once she's used the online codes.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Well I would phone Customer Services again and speak to someone with a brain! If the next person tells you this, say something like,
'well that's strange because I know that Grimsby/Norwich/Huntingdon (or whatever) store does take them, as my 'friend' uses hers there, so please could you check which other stores are in this scheme? It's limited to a few stores apparently so I quite understand that you may not have heard of it...'
Ask them if they can look into it and email you a list of stores...
(...then can we see the list on here please? Thanks!)
