If 'Dude' is VM, then you're going to be disappointed. No one else does cable-VM are the only provider.
Back to virgin then, this is what bt told me before i comitted:
What you can get on your new phone number
(We'll let you know your new phone number as soon as we've set up your line, by email and text.)
O2 Home Broadband
You chose The All Rounder
At present BT is unable to tell us how far you live from your exchange and so we can't give you an accurate speed estimate.
O2 Home Phone
Line rental and Pay for what you use calls are included in your package. If you'd like to, you can change your call package in the next step.
Putting in your new line
We need to put in a new line at your home. This will cost £86.81 and we'll add it to your first months' bill. We'll offer you some appointment times later on, as our engineer willOwed out = lots. :cool:0 -
How was you going to get it from plusnet seeing as you dont want a landline.
they said NOTHING about having to install a line from BT and having to activate it at nearly £100 cost, they presumed i had a line already but i don't, far as i was aware they were going to install a phone line and activate it, but not so.Owed out = lots. :cool:0 -

From their website:-
Get broadband on its own for just £6.49 a month
(You'll also need a BT or similar phone line)
Can't really miss it can you

Have you missed something out BT would not promote O2 products. Are you aware that the only supplier that offers broadband only is Virgin Media and only in a Cable Area.Back to virgin then, this is what bt told me before i comitted:

I really can't make head or tail of your posts. BT didn't tell you anything about O2.
Any ADSL provider will require to you to have a BT line installed and active. How do you think you can have ADSL broadband without a landline and without paying line rental?
If you don't want to pay for an install (it need not be as much as £100) then VM cable is your only option. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I think some of the more expensive ISP don't, well we think they don't. I think the ones that don't add it to your monthly subscription costs so you think your getting a "GOOD DEAL" when infact its properly hidden cost in their terms and conditions. All ISP's charge the £25 for a cease of service. This is a standard charge levied on them by Openreach for the last 2 or 3 years now.
Never the less i wouldn't be too upset about paying a small exit fee if it was required by Plusnet or another company like them to leave. I would say it was a small price to pay. The bigger penalties happen when you try and leave inside a contract term.
But what allot of people don't know is that, if you are inside a 12 or 24 month contract and you want to leave. Bare this in mind (its subject to your providers T&C's to a degree) but you can downgrade or upgrade to a new package and this in effect gives you a new set of terms & conditions for witch in most cases gives you a 7 or 14 day cooling off period, as most contracts do. But i stress again, that this is bound to what Terms & Conditions you signup to when you up or downgrade. If in drought ask to see a copy of the terms and conditions. I used this little loop-hole to escape away from Plusnet in the end. And i didn't pay a penny to them for the move.
Also if you have a bill that is in dispute always remember to Pay £1 by cheque (send it recorded post) and mark it "Part paid under dispute" this means it then can be channelled down the correct complaints process.0
