Has a Womens Quiksilver top labelled Size 4 ever equated to UK 12?

She got same as she paid for it and interestingly is saying she will just have to be careful next time and that because the seller can provide two links to conversion charts in UK that back her up (at least one is some small time retailer that didn't answer the phone yesterday evening) then we cannot argue with the seller. I said I am not so sure and have suggested leaving Neutral feedback with a link to this thread!0

You can't put a link in feedback as EBay will remove it, it's against their rules. The seller is bound to complain.
Neutral feedback sounds OK but the seller will more than likely leave you a lovely red negative in return!0 -
Agree the seller should have stated the actual Quiksilver size as well, but if you look at this site http://www.zunamee.com/sizing.html it does actually state that Roxy (which is Quiksilver) size 4 is a UK 12. Most "Surf" labels are aimed at smaller sizes so 1 is UK6 2(UK8), 3(UK10), 4(UK12), 5(UK14).0

Yep Glen_B, that was the site she referred us to :-))
From what I could see zunamee looks like a small time retailer based down in Brighton and with a name like that you can but wonder how long they have been in operation, but anyway I have further interesting news that kind of supports my girlfriends decision to give up ....
The Quiksilver shop at Stansted airport actually clearly tags all the size T4 items as UK size 12!!! But at least they provide a fitting room I think! DOH!0 -

I'm going to have to play Devil's advocate here i'm afraid. I don't know anything about Quicksilver's clothing as i don't own any of their garments. What i do know is, what can be size 12 in one shop and be a size 14 in another. I think that Quiksilvers clothing must run of the large side. I don't actually think the seller is in the wrong here. It looks to me that she had this top, wasn't sure what the UK size was, looked on that site and used that as a guide perfectly innocently. According to yourself, even Stanstead airport says T4 is a size 12. I know you might of seen these tops in a size 14 in TKMaxx, but so what? Doesn't mean the seller has! You should of ASQ before the auctioned ended to clear up any confusion about sizing. You could of asked what T size it had as it wasn't stated in the auction.
On eBay, its not like buying from your local high street shops. You just haven't got the same rights.
Here's 2 more online retailers that state T4 is Uk 12:
Cherry Zebra :: Sizes
ExtremePie.com Size Guide
Quick scan through eBay, i can't find ANY items of Quiksilver clothing stating that T3 is a 12. All the 12 states T4.

What is the fact she is Scottish got anything at all do do with this?0

Oh sorry maybe I should have said Scots not Scottish! It wasn't so much she was Scots but that she was dour - kind of a Porridge type Mr McKay's daughter I imagined! Just trying to illustrate the communication problem I was having - hope I succeeded!
PS I think they should have their own ebay site in Scotland, and a wall between theirs and ours :-)0 -

The top was labelled size 4 but for some reason the Seller decided to call it a size 12 and did not mention it that QS had labelled it size 4.
My girlfriend won the auction and the top is great and exactly what she wanted, but obviously too big.
The seller had plainly stated at the foot of her few auctions to date (I think her feedback was about 20) that she had a no returns policy which looked a bit harsh but was not an obvious problem at the time of buying.
I have seen a number of size 4 Roxy and Quiksilver in TKMaxx for example at well reduced prices. (TKMaxx business is about selling surplus largely designer label stock that doesn't move quickly enough for manufacturers through other channels). I have concluded that there is not as much demand for size 4 as size 3. Similarly UK size 14 abounds in TKMaxx, but size 12 doesnt.
I have a suspicion that this Seller may be deliberately creating and then exploiting a confusion by describing something clearly labelled using the well known manufacturers own sizing regime in another size regime and making the suitability of the item much more uncertain.
The Seller can find many bargains in QS size 4 where demand is low, and then she can find many buyers for UK size 12 where demand is high.
Unfortunately she has been totally inflexible about it and even managed to find a size conversion chart in use by a minor internet retailer which backed her, and I cannot find any significant chart which backs my girlfriend's general experience on these sizes.
My girlfriend has given up and will try to sell the item herself (not as a size 12 I might add!).
I have a nasty taste in my mouth over this one.
