Trying to book a ticket for my son to go to the USA in the summer has been a real headache. Last year it was £430 to Milwaukee return.... This year £750. Even Chicago is £440 and that is very limited.
Prices keep rising, does anyone know if people are still flying? I know I am now priced out of the market pretty much for long haul....

It is certainly getting more expensive. There are five of us and we have family in Canada (west coast) so these prices hurt! I try to
(a) not compare the fares with what I paid six years ago (there lies madness!)
(b) save money every month into our "next trip to Canada fund"

Yes, it's true prices are up again but looking at them historically my first trip to JNB in 1981 was over £600, my most recent was £450 and Lufthansa have just had a special of £339(very limited dates but plenty availability when I checked).0
