sounds so cool :-) wish my gym did that! i want to try that military fitness thing in the park but i know that will kill me and i will make a fool out of myself. ;-(

Do you mean British Military Fitness?

If so, then it is really fun and I usually hate the gym and stop going after about 3 weeks. I was at BMF for at least 7 months going twice a week. I only stopped because of my joint problems and I was in pain every time I went. I only planned to stop for about a month and then go back but then I fell off a horse and sprained my ankle so I need to fix that first. But I really really want to go back (this is from someone who hates exercise).

When I first went to BMF, I had not done any exercise for over a year and I managed to keep up with the blue class just about. Everyone (who isn't an athlete) finds the first 2 classes hard and then after that you make it as hard as you want. Even with my joint problems I could keep up and I felt a lot healthier and fitter which made me feel better. You will not make a fool out of yourself, everyone is very friendly and usually encourage people if they are behind. Also you are split into Blues, Reds and Greens with blues being unfit and greens being marathon runners. Depending on the size of your whole group, then you will be split into the different colours and each colour will have their own fitness leader person so you will be in your ability level. My group of people was quite small so I was with the blues and slower reds but I didn't mind as it meant I could see what level I was working towards.

The fitness military leader person is a lot friendlier than they would be in the military and will only encourage you and not shout.

Wow, that was a lot longer than I meant but that is just how much I loved going to BMF. The only downside was the majority of the time I was there was in winter so it was cold and dark but I didn't mind (most of the time:p)

yes that exactly!! wow i didnt realise that you get grouped and stuff. I know they do classes in my area and i have been trying to get OH to go with me so we can work together and i have someone to be with. :0) We have not been successful even though i had collected free entry leaflets at the station. :-( This year i will try and go for sure. I do like the idea of having to do stuff, so i can not just give up.

been very bad this week again in terms of the gym, but have kung fu tomorrow, so that will sort me out..yikes!!! :-)

I went on my own because I couldn't convince my OH to come with me and then he said he would but he didn't like that I kept coming home covered in mud so I never got him there. I made friends quite quickly once I was there though
