Oh I'm sorry Olokia.
well at least you are able to Get by on one wage, and the wedding money is saved. If you go to claim benefits (I did when I wa unemployed- don't understand the stigma- its what I pay my taxes for!!) it might be best to pay off any outstanding balances early, bcos they take into account savings. Just a thought.
Can't believe they hired someone and then let you go! That sounds a bit dodgy to me...:T0 -
Morning,
I was made redundant last night. I wanted to leave there anyway so this gives me the push I need to find a new job.
I don't have to work my notice so I have 2 weeks to find one. Even if I don't then the wedding money is already saved and we can get by on one wage for a little bit.
The redundancy was a bit of a surprise, I knew there was likely to be some but I was told my job was safe but I was the first to go in the end. I blame the new consultant person hired last Thursday.
Sorry to hear this OlokiaBut like you say it will give you a push!
That's awful that they told you you'd be safe though, I can't believe people can do that to others.
In diet news I've had a normal couple of days, haven't eaten really healthily but have stuck to my calorie limit.
Had yummy fish cake, rice and veg last night. I think that's my favourite meal at the moment.
I am envisaging a few extra calories this evening though, it is pancake day after all! Will have to go for a walk after work to cancel them out!
Hope everyone's eating well today xxCross Stitch Cafe Challenger No. 26 :hello:XStitch to do list:-- Birth Sampler -- Christmas Angel -- Mum's Xmas Stitch -- Christmas decs 3 & 4 -- Xmas Bird ---- Snowflake Sonata -- Be Jolly -- JE Unicorn -- Start HAED!!! --0 -
I have suddenly had a push in the whole food front after a bad week. We are hiring a hot tub for my hen weekend... 6 out of the 7 people we are inviting are a size 8 or smaller...! I do not want to be comparing myself to them when wearing a bikini!:T0

I've already applied for JSA and that is the only one I am eligible for.
I think it is only legally dodgy if the new person was doing the same role as me and he isn't.
I forgot about pancake day... I probably won't do anything for it as I only feel like having 1 or 2 and I always end up with loads when I cook them.0 -
On no sorry to hear that Olokia. Fingers crossed you get a new job soon.
I have no idea what is happening on my hen do Jo, so fingers crossed I don't need to be in a bikini! Don't think so... *desperately hopes not*
Dietwise I need to get a hold on my snacking. If I can do that I will be ok. Must go back to making myself exercise when I get in; that kills 2 birds with one stone- no snacking and exercise!
Hope OH's first day of his TC went well Jo0 -
morning all.
olokia i am so sorry to hear your news! hope you are ok and staying strong. its horrible in those circumstances. I would say if you are going to be ok on one wage for the mo, take a little break to recharge your batteries and then spend all the good energy in looking for a new job.. HUgs.. its never nice that way.. do take care though..xxx
dietwise... i was so hungry yesterday, all bloody day! i came home and hubby was playing the wii. lol. so i had to go and heat up my mums micture of semolina and nuts and then went for a bath. i was much more relaxed and some of the pain from kung fu vanished. phew.. we had a lovely dinner of turkey escalopes with a little sweet potato and a pepper filled with rice. it was amazing but i wanted more and more. lol. hubby also made some apple and plum crumble. yum...
i had a doc appointment this morning to see what had happend to my blood results, which were fine, thankfully as the receptionist had panicked and told me abnormal!!! eek! i ve been worried for a week!!!! grrr. thank god its all ok. was told the miscarriage had really affected my immune system so i am very tired and also thats the main reason my glads were swollen. they missed the blood test for glandular fever but i refused to go and give blood again!!!!
ok looong story... lol. i bought the cheats version of the pancakes so want to have that. for some weird reason, still feel hungry after 2 weetabix.:(Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Well he came back all dispondent, n apparently he wa worrying all day... Because it turns out he may not be able to book our honeymoon until July (if at all), an he was worried about how I would take it!! I told him it didn't really matter, if we book in July we can get a last minute deal etc. n this is workin with 'probably' won't- so infact we know nothing new!
So told him off and said to enjoy today more, n not worry about upsetting me!:T0 -
Glad your blood tests were ok Rups.
Oh bless him Jo. Why won't he be able to sort holiday for so long? 'Cos of changing seats? Irritating but as you say you may be able to get a brilliant last minute deal
I have tooth ache loads at the momentThink I need a filling. Need to find a dentist. I haven't registered since I moved to London nearly 3 years ago. Naughty I know. Think I am still registered with my uni dentist! haha. Going up to Norwich just to go to the dentist may be a bit excessive though.

Yeah, bcos of the changing seats. Well I had a look 3 month from today on first choice last night (trying to explain why it doesn't really matter), and there was a saving of about £500. That cheered him up a little!
That is good about ur tests Rups.
I went to the dentist the other day Em. First time in 2.5 years! All was ok tho, tho will go to the hygienist before the wedding!:T0
