Welcome Daisie and congratulations on your engagement, I usually come on this thread for some motivation, seeing all the ladies on this thread being so good always makes me feel like I should keep putting the effort in! Some people do post what they've eaten. We usually do a weigh in on Thursday night/ Friday morning (although this week I did mine early because I couldnt wait).

ETA: forgot to mention that some of us have downloaded an app on our phones called my fitnesspal. Its a good guide if you're calorie counting.
  • did anyone see the programme on bbc 1 at 8 pm last night about food??? apparently crisps are good for you! lol! to celebrate i had 2 packets, isn't that terrible??

i have come to the conclusion that my exercising and overall healthy eating coupled with my crisp addiction are effectively just cancelling each other out! and if i don't do anything about it i am never going to shift this final 6 lbs! stuck on 10 st exactly for the third week in a row. must try harder to resist the urge of my beloved crisps!

Did I hear right - crisps are good for you??? all my dreams have finally come true :rotfl:Any chance that wine is also good??

Welcome Daisie - Firstly congratulations - how exciting:T This is a really good thread for motivation - everyone is really lovely. 3 stone is doable... I am just trying to think of the weight in smaller amounts and it does come off bit by bit. Fingers crossed I'll have lost a stone by this evening, but in teh ideal world probably would love to do another 2.5 stone to 3. God - I only have till August (well dress fitting end of June -umm panicking now). :(

lisajane your comment made me laugh.. lol. i started watching that but we put on some weird film called priest. lol

welcome daisie. ;) you can see how mad or not mad we all are (i am referring to myself as mad really, not everyone). :p

dinner last night was laaate, as we cooked together. The curry was yum. i made a mess of the samosas. lol and the kulfi didnt turn out well so we had chocolate instead. i tried to be good and had those mini caramel bunnies, and there were two in a pack so had that and felt sick, so i stopped. Hubby carried on with some cadburys dairy milk. :) he also caught me stuffing some crisps into my mouth as was starving, since it was past dinner time. i hate waiting for food to cook when i am starving. also had a rice cake. oops. im officially a pig! lol

will try be good today. haha:rotfl: have decided back to gym for sure next week!!!

Your dinner sounds yummy Rups. I have got to attempt to make SW curry for a party on Sat. All my friends are laughing at me - as I don't really cook curry even though I have a Mauritian mother. :o It looks lovely and fairly easy, so thought I might make some dhal to go with it.

Now I have put done in writing that I still want to lose 2.5 - 3 stone I feel really sick. Not even sure thats doable (well do able sensibly). Wedding is end of August, but 1st dress fitting 20 something of June. That only gives me about 4 months :eek: I need help desperately. :(

If you can lose about 2lbs a week Hadley, you should be able to lose almost 2.5st by June, but if you're getting a final fitting just before your wedding that gives you almost 6 months and you'll definitely be able to lose 3st in that time.

Oh thanks Stir. That has made me feel a bit less worried. 2.5 stone is 35lbs... I can do that. 3 stone is 42 lb.. I can do that. Just need to think of a it as a couple of lbs or so each week.

I will be slim for my wedding!! I will, I will. :)

Keeping everything crossed for my weigh in at SW tonight.

Yeah Hadley it is def do-able. :)

ahh i miss dhals. my mum used to make so much and imiss her veggie curries too :( all we eat is meat, and more meat. saying that, yesterday's curry was from a co-op recipe card and it had butternut squash, aubergines, lentils, and of course some lamb pieces. hehe// we had it with brown rice. we are becoming fans of brown rice now. what curry you going to make then?

Thanks Rups. I think the scare has probably done me good - I am now focussed. As long as I have at least lost the 0.5 lbb to get my stone tonight I'll be happy(ish). Would really be happy if I'd lost 3lbs but we shall see. Am actually really scared that they'll tell me I've put on again. :( I'll start with new vigour from tonight. :) I am going to look stunning in my dress!!

Its meat all the time in our house as well... veg is a side dishes and even then if OH had a choice veg really means spuds. :rotfl:

Am going to attempt beef Rogan Josh ... not really sure where to start, but it looks quite easy. I did say I'd make a veg one and OH looked at me as if I'd said something rude.

Umm have just realised my good intentions might be for nothing as Sunday we have our menu tasting. and, of course, I need to check that out in great detail. :rotfl:
